RCA wireless phone network - Anyone get it working?

Has anyone bought this product and gotten it to work? I bought the base station and the satillete because I don't want to run wires in the walls everywhere, but I wanted phone available in rooms where they aren't. But I can't seem to get it to work...so I'm wonder if anyone has gotten them to work.

My dad picked up a set to use w/ his RIO Receiver. We were only able to get it to work when it was within the same room. Returned it after an hour. What good is it with such distance limitations. Anytime it was more than a room away it wouldn't work. For the price it wasn't worth it. If it has to be in the same damn room I'll just run a wire and not spend a fraction of the amount.

Just buy a Siemens phone system. Uses 2.4 GHz frequency. Just buy a base that plugs into the phone jack, then buy extension phones for the different rooms of your house (all you have to do is plug them into the electrical outlet and it uses the telephone connection from the base station). Nice phones too.

thanks for the info. I guess I'll be returning mine as well...and it seemed like such a cool idea.
