Win XP - Which sound card to buy? That works well?

Updated the PC recently to Windows XP from Window 2000 and noticed my old Diamond Monster MX400 does not have sound?

This is an old card and no drivers exist after Windows NT on their site so I am in the market for a new card.

Been doing some research and looked into getting a Creative Labs Audigy Gamer as these have Windows XP drivers and are a reasonable price. Well Amazon has it for around $89 retail.

But many people said the drivers are crap from Creative so I wondered if anyone here has one or recommends a different Soundcard?

Just need a soundcard with working Win Xp drivers?

Thanks in advance.

What do you want to do with the card. Games? Connect to your receiver? Surround sound?

well since you stuck with a diamond sound card for this long I would go with CREATIVE LABS SOUND BLASTER LIVE! 5.1 - OEM for $36 shipped

XP software

Good Luck
