Please help...being bombarded with virus files

I don't know what the hell is going on, but I'm receiving email after email from people I've never heard of with attachments that contain viruses. Norton catches all of them, and not that I'd open them anyway but it's making me pull my hair out.

Is this happening to anyone else right now or does it sound like I'm being attacked? I have started emailing the apparent originators of the emails but one of them just emailed back and asked what I'm talking about...so perhaps these emails are not actually originating from where they appear to be?

I've been getting a lot too - this damn Klez.32 worm got my friend, so I got a couple from him. It's a pretty tricky worm because it looks like it's coming from a random address, but one that you recognize. I've caught them all with MailWasher, not even letting them be downloaded by Eudora.

And just after I posted this, my brother came in and asked me if I had been getting a lot of virii. He's being bombarded as well, most likely from the same friend of me that got infected. Just stay away from them. Attachments = bad

Yeah the Klez.32 is the most common....looks like at least I'm not the Lone Ranger here. Not familiar with MailWasher but it sounds like I should look into it...

http://www.mailwasher.net

It downloads the subjects and the "from" off your POP server and then before downloading the whole message you can choose to delete it straight off the server. You can also bounce messages back to the senders of spam, thus making it look as if you're e-mail address doesn't work. It also can automatically check different databases that blacklist spam and mark them, so you can just get rid of them without having to even preview them. It's a great program, and well worth the price of registration (you don't have to, and even if you do register, you can pick a price).
