Help with corrupt CAB files

Hello. I have a couple CAB files I am trying to extract. However, WinZIP (as well as other programs) won't open then and tell me they are corrupt. The message WinZIP gives me is
WinZip cannot open C:\my documents\data2.cab because it is not in the standard Microsoft CAB format (as defined in mid-1998). The "signature bytes" required by the Microsoft CAB specification are missing
Anyone know how to fix it? Is there a program out there that can either repair CABs or view their content, regardless of the signature bytes?

Thanks

I'm not exactly sure ... head over to Anandtech.com and check out the forums and i'm sure you will get an answer there either in the archives or in the Tech Support or Software forums.

Good luck.

Have you tried using the EXTRACT command in windows? It might be on the Windows CD but I've used it in the past.

Are you sure the CAB file is in the proper format like the WINZIP error said, and are you sure it isn't corrupt?

It is an Install Shield CAB file, so that may be the reason... but I am sure there is a way to extract it, regardles...
