Baby AT PIII boards on sale

Found a place on Pricewatch offering Asus P2B-B boards for $58 delivered! Looks like I can give my mom's husband's ancient AT case one final upgrade (it's had 4 over the last 12 years).

These boards accept PII/PIII up to 600Mhz, 768mb of RAM, and have AGP 2X slots. A rare find nowadays!

I saw more than one Baby AT PII motherboard back in the old days (including one going by the name of Tomato Board). I ended up getting a Supermicro ATX, though.

I know someone who was given a PII-300 CPU, and has an old AT case; using one of these boards could allow him to build a budget, XP-capable machine.

I'm still using an AT case, and if you don't mind used stuff you can get good deals on AT MB's on eBay.

I need to find a CPU for this board - I was surprised to see how much PIII-600Mhz CPUs sell for on Pricewatch.

Don't get the 600Mhz. The 500Mhz are much cheaper. But if you take my advice and try eBay you can often get the CPU, MB and sometimes even RAM as a package deal real cheap.

Looks like they want as much on eBay as the CPUs sell for new!?

I guess I got spoiled with the AMD Durons and T-Birds.
