How do I record from a tape player to my pc?

My brother did a interview with VNV Nation last night, and he used my mini recorder. Now we want to get it on my pc. I am running WinXP pro, and have a turtle beach Santa Cruz sound card if that matters any.

Get the proper cable and connect the mini recorder output (or hte headphone jack) to the sound card line in jack. Don't know if you have a sound recorder software from Turtle Beach, but you can use Windows Sound Recorder.

I have the cable,a nd it is pluged into the mic part of the sound card, and the moniter part of the mini recorder.

Where is the windows sound recorder located? I did a search for it, but my pc did not list it.

ok, I found the sound recorder.. but it will let you only do 60 seconds at a time, and then you have to hit record again. A bit of a pain in my butt. Is there a way to set it to record like 40 minutes straight?

Forgot about the Sound Recorder limitation.. plus, it records in wav format so it will fill up your hard drive quickly. Don't you have other sound recording software that comes with the Turtle Beach sound card or from a cd burner software?

Well, the sound card came with Turtle Beach's Soundstation, but it does now work with anyhting but cd's. Kinda usless to me.

I ended up using the program that X posted about when Geoff asked about recording internet audio streams. Worked great!

Thanks for all your help Zuffy. It was appreacated highly.
