Slow scrolling's usually a sign of a slow videocard - either that, or bad drivers. If you just got the computer, check the website of whoever makes your video card, and see if there's an updated driver for it. It's quite possible you're just using the default Windows XP driver, which, while it'll work, definitley won't give you the best performance.

How are you scrolling? If you are using the scroll wheel then it is possible that the 'scroll so many lines for each rotation' property is defaulted to 1 or something when you are used to it being 3 or something.

BTW, I have XP and haven't noticed that problem.

And are you sure you don't have "smooth scrolling" enabled? I hate that feature.

Go to Internet Options (Tools->Internet Options, or go through Control Panel)

Click the Advanced tab

Uncheck "Use smooth scrolling" at the bottom of the Browsing section

There ya go. That SHOULD fix the problem.
