How can I get AOL/CS to work while I am on a Cable/DSL connection?

How can I get AOL/CS to work while I am on a Cable/DSL connection?

I bring my computer with me to a few places and one of them has DSL/Cable. I have a network card in my computer and am hooked up the high speed line. When I try and start up AOL or CS it just tries to start my modem and DIAL the connection

Any advice?

Start AOL, and then choose setup, then I believe it is either add modem or connection device or find connection device, and you do this while you are connected via the cabl/dsl modem then it will give the option of connecting via tcp/ip. Then you that will become your access number you just sign on as normal but tcp/ip connection is your location. If you are moving the system around you have to setup more then one location one being the TCP/IP and one being your dialup connection.
