Problems after reformat

I have been having problems with my computer that I have had for 3 years and people said that I my just want to start over so I reformatted my hard drive. Now I can't get sound and I think the reason is that it is saying that I don't have PCI multimedia device and PCI multimedia video divice drivers. The computer is not finding it on the restoration disc and a search of the internet so far has only come up with a bunch of other people having the same problem with no replies on how to fix it. Anyone here help me? System is Gateway PII 400, 128 RAM, win 98 1st edition. Thanks.

go to http://www.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp
and put in your computer information.. it will tell you exactly which drivers to get for your sound card..

just install those

most likely.. the sound card is listed in your device manager under "other devices" since you havent loaded the drivers yet
