Reasons for upgrading to Office XP?

I'm currently using Office 2K and I don't have any problems. Now there's a 'Student Version' of Office XP Standard available at Amazon for 149 bucks. Certainly a bargain.

Why would I want to upgrade? Is XP worth $149 if you have 2K? Any advise is appreciated.

1. because you have lots of money to spend.
2. anal about new products
3. want to use hotmail with outlook

yeah. i upgraded when it first came out, through the world of academia, but i paid 200 then. Anyways, I also have Office 2000 and I was happy with that. There is very little reason in my opinion to do so. I wish I would have passed on it.

Only reasons I upgraded my workstation at work is cuz I'm anal about having the lastest version, and the company has an Enterprise agreement with Microsoft. I don't see any benefits to upgrade from Office 2000 to XP, unless you LOVE the smarttag crap.

This is the only new feature I noticed. We use 2K at work and it seems almost identical to XP. Most of the new Office features end up being things I would never use.

xp pretty much is just office 2k for idiots.
the new features make it so any idiot can use it
but extremely annoying if you know anything about what your doing.
also.. have had alot of trouble running sql queries with xp, but they run fine in 2k and lower

Thank you all for your advise. I'll stick to Office 2K.
