Can a Diamond Rio 500 use a 128MB Smartmedia card?

The last upgrade I found was to allow it to use a 64MB SmartMedia card. Will it also use a 128MB Smartmedia card? I couldn't find it on the Diamond site, and CS hasn't responded to me yet. Thanks!

the latest firmware supports up to 64 meg smart media cards.

here's the latest firmware:

ftp://ftp.diamondmm.com/pub/multimed...rmware_215.exe

i have the nike version of the rio player and i love it. i convert everything to wma before transferring it though so i can fit more on there.

cartman, 2.15 should support 128 cards. there is an official unofficial relase 2.16 that definitely supports it, but rio pulled it from circulation. i am currently running 2.16 and a 128 MB SmartMedia

according to their website it only supports 64. if you still have 216, maybe you could send it to him? you can never have enough disk space.

Found 2.16 here:

http://www.rioworld.org/ffiles.htm

There apparently was a 2.17 in the works as of Feb. 2001, but never materialized. Looks like SonicBlue has abandoned the Rio 500.
