i get it in nyc. service is decent, although verizon caps the speed at about 700kb down. the static ip is nice if you want to run any kind of server.

Well the thing is, PacBell contracts their service out to DTVDSL. DTV actually uses PB's infrastructure to deliver their DSL service. So I guess technically, speeds should be about the same bewteen the two. However, DTV is offering a special...$20 a month for the first 3 months then $49 after that. PB is charging $49 right off the bat plus installation, unless you use the hardware you already have. Thing is, my current ISP, Pacificnet is also similar to DTV in that they also use PB's infrstructure to deliver the dsl line. So I shouldn't have to actually change any of my hardware or get anything installed. Except for maybe getting a new modem. So I can avoid the installation charge. So since I am already basically getting dsl via PacBell's infrastructure, should I just go ahead and get their whole service(ISP, etc) or should I get DTV's service with their $20 a month for the first 3 months offer?
