You need to liven this forum up a little, play some music in here, get some furniture or somthing, maybe some belly dancers

Moving to Other...

Yeah, you're right. But I'm the bouncer, not the entertainment.

I'm open to suggestions.

Did you read the fine print before you signed up?

Not only are you the bouncer and the entertainer, but you need to clean the toilets every night too.

maybe we need a Toshiba vs IBM war or an Intel vs AMD flame going on in here, it has been a while

How about Dell vs Toshiba vs IBM
Goblincat = Dell = Good

And Intel vs AMD vs... um... as far as excluding Apple/motorolla goes, I guess we can add Cyrix and Alpha.

Then again, maybe not. Intel vs AMD is fine.

Keeping this somewhat computer related, does my city suck if I can't find a single store that carries a simple 68 pin internal scsi cable?

Man, the Atari name is now owned by Infogrames. That name should have been retired long ago.

Outdated or not, I gotta get me one of these:

Local computer stores carry what the six-pack family buys (or whatever Belkin stocks). The six-pack family doesn't buy SCSI.

It does where I'm from. I think even Best Buy has them.

There is a business located in the same business park I am (not really a retail store, more of a large account supplier) called 'computer cable connection'. Now you would think at least these guys would have something right, even if they charge a bit more for it. Wrong, out of stock. take a week to get it in. WTF is up with this damn town, I've called about 10 places, they all tell me try comp-usa, like I would ever consider walking in that god forsaken store even if they did carry the thing (which they don't). I guess it's time to wait another f'in week to install my new drive.

Many local computer stores only stock what they can sell in volume.

SCSI is lost on many people

Dave - I take it all went well with the drive order?

Atari Rules, I still have several older machines laying around that still work (Atari 2600, Atari 800, Atari 130XE) G-cat, jealous?

I still want one of those Portfolios.

Yeah, they forgot to include the 80-68 adapter, but they sent it out as soon as I called them with no hassle. Good place to order from.

Oh, and semi Atari related, but I also have an almost complete MAME arcade game (it will play Atari arcade games).

Dave,

These guys are good for adapters, etc

http://www.cablemakers.com/0scsiadpr.htm

UPS 2nd day shipping is very reasonable through them (like $7 for small items)

G-cat
I have about 100 2600 games myself, but for the 130XE I have about 250 games, many of which I bet a lot of people forgot about or never played. It was not a popular system at all.

The mame setup is sweet- so when is your wife going to file for divorce

Hey, anyone know where I can get a Seagate 18 GB X15-36LP?

I've already checked all the online stores, and everyone of them is out of the 68 pin model. I can get the 80 pin SCA version, but I really don't want to have to dick around with the adapters.

X, don't you have a home internet sharing FAQ you should be working on?

Are you a dealer or reseller by any chance?

These guys would have them if anyone on the entire east coast had them

Comstor Net

14116 Newbrook Dr
Chantilly, VA 20151-2223
Phone: (703)802-0222

or these guys

Comtech Micro System Inc

3026 Javier Rd
Fairfax, VA 22031-4609
Phone: (703)560-3500

unless you are a reseller Comstor will not deal with you. With Comtech it varies, if you get a salesman that is hurting to make numbers he will sell to anyone

The 80 pin adapters are really not a hassle

What do you expect from a bunch of computer geeks?

The funny thing is this thread started off topic and went on topic, that hasn't happened in any other forum, ever. Geeks!

I think X needs to give stuff away (like memory or something) to get more traffic through the forum, our stunning personalities in here is obviously not enough

Post your address. I'll pack it in some white "anti-static" powder too.

It's Dave's fault, he brought up the scsi cables. Dork.

Hmmm... if we're all geeks, as mod would that make X the King of the Geeks?

Jason, of course, is far too cool to be considered a geek. (Damn, where is that dancing Jason pic when you need it?)

4KRG, thanks for the leads. No reseller license, but I'll give them a call Monday morning anyway.

Hey, I just asked if my city sucked because of 1 particular reason. The fact that it was computer related doesn't matter.

I hope I did not offend my fellow geeks

actually I do like the give away idea. although I am not sure about the white powder.

maybe we should have a single thread devoted to mature pics with women and computers so as to keep it forum related
