How do I save e-mails to a floppy disc?

First off, I'm running Microsoft Outlook Express 5 and Windows 98.
I just purchased a new PC and am needing to save all of my important stuff to floppy disc so that I can put them on my new PC. I save a lot of e-mails (transactions, keepers, etc.) and I can't figure out how to save these to disc so that I can transfer them to the new PC. Can somebody help me out?
Thanks in advance.

Under file, in Outlook go to export. This way you can send folders to wherever you want, disk, whatever. Hope this helps.

Didn't work. After I did what you said, it gave me this message in a Yes or No window.
This will export messages from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook or Microsoeft Exchange.
Not sure what to do next.

Re: How do I save e-mails to a floppy disc?

When ever I switch pcs i do the following.

Tell outlook express not to check for new mail for 2 hours.

Forward every message I want to keep back to myself.

setup mail on my new computer and receive all the forwarded mail..

OR drag them to one of my hotmail accounts then drag them back..

Found this in help file on Outlook 6.0. Hope this helps.

"To compact and back up e-mail folders

Select an e-mail folder.
On the File menu, point to Folder, and then click Compact.
To back up the folder, find the folder file, and then copy it to a backup folder, floppy disk, or network drive. Outlook Express e-mail folders have a .dbx extension (for example, "Sent Items.dbx"). "
