Sound card problems

Really, my soundcard works great if my pc doen't go into standby.

When i put my computer out of standby i get a really bad sound.
I find this anoying.
My Pc is always on and i can never go into standy.

Please help me.

Forgot one thing;
OS- win98, Me,win2K and XP Pro

The problem is still the same.
Would try it in linux but i don't have it.
my soundcard is a creative soundblaster live 1024
