A simpler, cruder, but faster test is availble here.http://www.kc.rr.com/speedtest/rrspeed.htm

I use dsl reports to check my connection about once per week and roadrunner test to check the speed of the net once a day.

You can go here and do multiple tests by download size. It gives you an average speed.

http://speedtest.mybc.com/

Or go here:

http://www.triad.rr.com/speed/speed.asp

My RoadRunner Cable modem is pretty fast, my tests on both sites were:

RR Test= 2.476 Megs
Telus Test= 2.354 Megs
