Why should I use Windows 2000?

I have this shiny disk in front of me. So why should I install it? I play Half-Life a lot. will that be a problem?

game run a little slower and sometimes you have some hardware compatablity issues. However if your hardware is all supported in win2k the small gaming performance hit is not notaciable and it is a small price to pay for improved stabilty. Make sure you install a fresh install of 2k and don't do the upgrade.

as long as you have updated drivers and the second service pack, it will play fine. I Play HL on a 2k machine, i havent had crashes. always used to crash on me while using 98

best (typical) reason to switch to windows2000.

when i was running windows98, my computer used to freeze 2-3 times a day if i left it on. i installed windows2000 about six months ago and now i run it 24 hours a day (my computer was off for less than 100 hours in the past 6 months), and it hasn't frozen on me once. this would be a TYPICAL experience of a windows2000 user.
