Sometimes when I get on the net, a porn site from jumpforce.com will load instead of yahoo. I'll say this happens once in every 7 or 8 times I get on the web.

It was pretty embrassing the other day when my dad went to show me something on the web and when he went to get on the web, that porn site loaded up.

Can someone please tell me how I cna change this? .....and why this is even coming up??

Thanks a lot!

It does look as if you downloaded something at some stage, perhaps unwittingly. Why else would the apparent change in homepage not be permanent?

If you've done all the obvious things then take a look at this Usenet thread and then simply sort out the serious advice from the noise!

Tercel_w_Double5, when the problem is fixed, please post what you did so that the rest of us will know. Thanx.

Tercel_w_Double5, I think someone from the columbia house thread must be lashing out at you for your snide comments

In all seriousness though, have you been to any porn sites recently? Somewhere along the line something may have backdoored itself to your system. I'd follow benedict's advice in checking that thread or others on the newsgroups and see what you come up with.

You could always try checking the task manager and see if any obvious proggys are running that shouldn't be. Its a simple check for anything running in the background separate from everthing else. Otherwise you got some purging to do.

you might have set your homepage to the porn site, unknowingly, with some sort of PopUp box that might have rewritten text like click here to enter (OK, Cancel)(whereas it really is a set Home Page promp)
