Unfortunately, Vudu will have separate listings for Japanese and English Audio. Hopefully they'll have a bundle with both versions. But if not, I'll probably buy them at iTunes which should have both audio options and hopefully will have some iTunes Extras.

Seems weird considering the Blu-rays don't have video changes between audio languages, lol.

Since the iTunes Extras are only available on Apple devices, I guess non-Apple devices are stuck with the English Dub version.

I want the Japanese audio, but for the next decade my kids are more likely to watch the English version.

I'm thinking about picking up that bundle the next time I see $100 iTunes Gift Cards on sale.

The news comes months before the Studio Ghibli films are meant to stream exclusively in the U.S. on HBO Max beginning in May 2020.
The films, 21 in all dating back 30 years to 1984, will only be available as digital download-to-own, with each film retailing for $19.99. The films will not be available for rental at this time, but GKIDS says the movies will be available for purchase on all major digital platforms, including Apple TV, Amazon VOD, VUDU, Google Play, Sony, Microsoft and Fandango Now. Further, both the original Japanese and the English-language dubs of the animated films will be available for purchase.
GKIDS will also offer a bundle of six of some of the studio’s most famous films as directed by Hayao Miyazaki, including “Howl’s Moving Castle,” “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” “My Neighbor Totoro,” “Ponyo,” “Princess Mononoke” and the Oscar-winning “Spirited Away” for a price of $99.99.
Below is the full list of titles to be made available from the Studio Ghibli library.
“Castle in the Sky”
“The Cat Returns”
“From Up on Poppy Hill”
“Howl’s Moving Castle”
“Kiki’s Delivery Service”
“My Neighbor Totoro”
“My Neighbors the Yamadas”
“Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind”
“Ocean Waves”
“Only Yesterday”

Way to pull out the rug from the HBO Max announcement!
Sure, some people won’t pay a la carte, but these are great films, and I’d be OK paying for them. The bundle isn’t an awesome price, but I’d probably go that route because they’d be the vast majority of my views.
Coincidentally, I just saw Mononoke in theaters last week.

Update on the Official Vudu Forum:
Note we were able to get this changed to allow the original version as a locked extra - if you pre-ordered the Japanese language version it will be converted to a pre-order for the English one. In any case the Japanese version will become an extra of the English version instead of a standalone movie. Might take a bit for this to be completed but should be well before the release date.
