So they basically don't have clips of any of these shows, which is why they paid these actors (and Spielberg) to come out personally?

OMG, they'e really dragging this Apple TV + presentation.

They're making it like a May upfront presentation. Now they have freaking Big Bird on the stage.

...upfronts at least have clips.

You all can take one for the team. I'm glad I'm not watching, I just want the full details somewhere on one page.

re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

I stand corrected. Weird to keep the sizzle reel until the end and just have actors talking.

Coming this Fall and will also be available on Smart TV's and in 100+ countries. It will be available on the Apple TV app.

No price announced.

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

That's all I was really curious about, platforms (Smart TVs, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire). Props to them for that at least.

DJariya 03-25-19 01:44 PM

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

So the content will be available to those who aren't locked into the Apple ecosystem.

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

Smart move imo. Their stock only shed $8.5 billion worth of value over the course of the presentation, which was probably gained in the last day for "potential surprises" (That's like -1.80 from like 190 which happens when a mosquito sneezes).

Nope. They have all the A-list stars and creators, but no price was mentioned.

geez, that's the only thing I wanted to hear

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

It's not out yet so it probably makes sense for them to wait at least until we see what Disney is going to price their's at (that's coming out first, right?)

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

Disney + is rumored to also be coming out in late 2019.

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

I have an Apple TV 4K in addition to my Roku, but I'm not sure I have the time or money to support another streaming service. I'm pretty tapped out for time and money already. And I'm already planning to check out Disney + when that launches.

Apple TV +, Disney + and apparently Warner Brothers are all launching in the 4th quarter this year. That's alone is already too much for most people, especially those who already have say Netflix, Hulu and Prime along with CBS, Showtime and HBO Now. The smaller ones like DC, EPIX and Sundance Now just going to get lost.

and then there's Criterion that launches next month.

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

I wonder if ATV+ will be all original content, or if it'll be a mix of original and licensed content.

It would be nice if they licensed some unique content, and not the usually stuff that's already been passed around from one service to the other.

fujishig 03-25-19 05:11 PM

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

I'm all for new, unique content. Most of these services have no incentive to lock in a year, so with so many I don't mind jumping around as long as they keep my login info during my lapses.

That's what they should have shown yesterday at the Keynote. All of those exclusives. Put that way, I'd definitely give it a go.

RichC2 03-26-19 09:38 AM

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors -- To launch Mid 2019

They did show that at the Keynote, but it was at the end.
