So those stats are just for folks who have the free 1-year option not for those paying out of pocket for the subscription. These are two different variables. I'll be interested to see how many people have actually paid to subscribe to the service, like me.

Ok, that's one. I think you're the only one I know who's consistently paid to subscribe to the service, as opposed to getting it for free or waiting to binge.

I follow a Morning Show Facebook and it seems like the majority of that group are actually paying for it. A few did mention they were getting it for free with the free 1 year trial.

I heard that the Apple TV app has been added to many LG TVs today (or maybe yesterday). Haven't checked to see if it's on mine yet or not...I have an older model, but they did give me Disney +.
EDIT: No added app for me...and I have a 2016 LG model.

There's no way I'm ever paying for Apple TV+ with the anemic content they have. That upcoming Beastie Boys doc is tempting though.

I think their original series top Disney +'s original series - the problem is Apple ONLY has those series, they don't have a huge backlog of catalog titles to also include.

I get the service for free and barely watch it. Doesn’t help that I can’t watch on my phone, PS4, Xbox One or my Smart TV downstairs. I can watch it on my Roku in my bedroom or my iPad but those are not my preferred viewing experiences.

It looks like some Apple TV apps are now showing Dolby Vision.
I have a TCL Roku TV. I watched La La Land last week and it was HDR. Now it's Dolby Vision. The Roku app is Apple TV Version 3.0 Build 33.
Someone on MeWe reported that the Amazon Fire Stick 4K app is also Dolby Vision now.

My wife just got an iPhone 11 upgrade through work and it is showing the free year available.
I should just be able to sign in to the AppleTV app on Roku/Amazon Fire with her Apple ID, even though I've already signed in previously with my ID, right? She doesn't have any purchased movies/tv shows but I do. As long as we remember to cancel before it's billed. Would be bad to have that charge on her work account.
Speaking of cancelling, what's the deal with that? I've seen some debate if you cancel early, it cuts you off immediately, while others say you still get the full year.

I assume the free year is tied to the Apple ID that is signed in on the phone?
Now that I think about it, I probably should have signed in with my personal Apple ID first, then got the deal, then wiped it and sign in with her ID. But I didn't think the deal would be there since it was a work phone.
Or is there some option to use it on a different Apple ID when redeeming it?

Went ahead and signed up on her phone. Went to Amazon 4k Firestick, and under settings of the Apple TV app, there is an option to "add" an account. So I added her account to the app and the subscription is there. This is nice, we can just toggle back and forth now to see owned movies/tv on my account and the TV+ subscription on her account.
I'll have to check Roku later to see if it has the same feature.

Apple TV Plus is making a number of its original television series, kids shows and one documentary available for free as millions of families are cooped up indoors due to coronavirus-induced prevention measures. The streaming platform joins HBO, AMC and others in offering free content during the pandemic.
The following programs are currently available to watch without an Apple TV Plus subscription: Wildlife documentary “The Elephant Queen,” narrated by Chiwetel Eljiofor, “Little America,” the anthology series about immigrant life in America, created by Lee Eisenberg and executive produced by Kumail Nanjiiani, Emily Gordon and Alan Yang; “Servant,” M. Night Shymalan’s thriller series about a couple mourning a tragedy; astronaut alternative-history drama “For All Mankind”; Alena Smith’s half-hour “Dickinson,” starring Hailee Steinfeld; live-action preschool series “Helpsters,” from the makers of “Sesame Street”; the “Ghostwriter” reboot; and “Snoopy in Space.”

I was interested in Dickenson and Little America but not enough to pay for another service so this works out great.

I started having trouble with my iPhone two weeks ago. I took it to Apple and whatever was wrong with it couldn't be fixed. Thankfully, it was still under warranty so they gave me a new one. I signed up for my free 1 year trial of Apple TV yesterday. So far, my daughter and I have been watching Snoopy in Space, which is great if you are a Peanuts fan. After that, i'm going to look around and see what else they have to watch.

Re: Apple TV+ -- News and Rumors
According to rumors, there's a new Apple TV 4K model coming out soon.

I hope they update the remote. I passed on the current model because I hate that touch remote.
I also hope there's a cheaper entry-level 4K model. I'd love to see a $100 version.

For adult oriented, I highly recommend the Morning Show. Top tier talent involved. I also heard the new 3 episode series Defending Jacob with Chris Evans is good.
