What if you do not use their X1 box but good ole Tivos? I assume there should be an app. I can tap into on my LG tv or maybe Tivo will add this to their list of apps that I can tap into? Bit frustrated how Xfinity is handling this. I pay a lot of money to them so I will have whine to them if I cannot access.
Anyway, I just hope my post is nothing more than me spazzing out over something I will be able to take advantage of.
The more I research the more it looks like I would need their X1 box. I already do not care that much about HBO/Starz/Showtime/Hitz, and maybe I will not be able to watch something I should get for free...ughh, need to chat w/xfinity about lowering my bill by removing premium channels (which I can get a la carte nowadays with ease).

Has anyone done some perusing?
Ithink it’s really clunky on X1 and seems confusing to find things as the categories are oddly set up.

I've only browsed the menus (agreed, they're really set up oddly), but haven't actually watched anything yet...really nothing there that I'm keen on checking out - might take another look at Greatest American Hero and Sliders. Otherwise, I'm just waiting for the original stuff to debut.

There’s a new show called Peacock Variety Hour hosted by Seth MacFarlane that started tonight.
This one was about 7 minutes long and featured a new episode of Monk and included the entire main five
actors from the show.
I had to search “Variety” to find it.

Heh. I'm with you. I haven't really watched anything on it past the first week it was available. An Xfinity/Comcast isn't exactly doing much to promote it with their subscribers. If anything new has been added, no one would know about it without opening the app.

I kept reading X1 as Xbox One and wondering why they cut a deal with Microsoft.
Are they planning like some major additions with the actual non soft rollout? Otherwise this has about as much buzz as Quibi, maybe less so because at least I knew when Quibi launched.

It's still the case. See the pre-order prices for a yearly subscription that I posted earlier.
There's a "free" version which is apparently limited in the type of content you can watch.
And paid ad supported version that allows you to watch everything
and Lastly an Ad free version which costs about $50 more than the paid ad supported version.
Only Comcast subscribers get it for free since it's part of NBC/Universal.

Peacock just licensed a bunch of Paramount and ViacomCBS shows/movies. That makes sense.

Under the deal, films from Paramount will stream on Peacock in limited exclusivity windows throughout 2021, 2022, and 2023. The roster includes The Godfather trilogy, Catch Me If You Can, The Talented Mr. Ripley, American Beauty, Patriot Games, Last Holiday, Fatal Attraction, The Firm and An Officer and a Gentleman.
TV series headed to Peacock on July 15 include Ray Donovan, The Affair, Undercover Boss, The Game, Everybody Hates Chris and Real Husbands of Hollywood. Charmed will be added in October.
Shows and films will still be available on ViacomCBS platforms and, apart from the months-long exclusives for Paramount films, all will be eligible for the forthcoming expansion of CBS All Access. ViacomCBS CEO Bob Bakish recently said the streaming service will be broadened out this summer in a preview version ahead of a full reboot in 2021.
“We are truly excited to bring some of the most popular movies and series from across the ViacomCBS family of brands to Peacock,” said Frances Manfredi, President, Content Acquisition and Strategy, Peacock. “We continue to expand the Peacock catalog with premium programming from NBCUniversal and beyond; partnering with companies like ViacomCBS to ensure that all of our viewers can choose from the best entertainment options available in the market today.”

I went ahead today and pre-ordered Peacock for the $79.99/1-year special. I went ahead and went all out with no ads. That's about $6.67/month There is a cheaper version for $29.99 with ads. And yes, there is a "free" version with ads, but it only gets about 1/2 the content.
It goes live in 10 days.
As of right now, it does not have Roku or Amazon support like HBO Max. But, I do have an Apple TV 4K, which it does support, so I got it. I have a 4K switch and go back and forth using my Roku and Apple TV.
Obviously with this not having Roku or Amazon support like HBO Max, I assume the majority here will pass on it.
NBC does have a huge back catalog of shows I want to re-visit. Especially OG Law and Order and Criminal Intent which I never watched regularly.
I read that NBC is still going to support Hulu for at least 2 more years and then they may pull all of their shows to move here.

I've read that Roku is playing hardball because they want a larger cut of the sales of the app from their app store.
