I have a Toshiba Amazon Fire TV. It looks like with the update that you can finally change the screen size. |

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
So I guess the Superbowl will be streaming via Peacock? I have the top-tier plan, so I assume it will be there. I normally don't pay attention, but since it's going to be held out here, when in Rome and all that.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
It’s going to be on nbc so unless someone doesn’t have access to that why watch it on peacock?

I don't have network TV, because I never bought the antenna adapter thing or whatever. I figure since it's already in my workflow, just Peacock it via the PS5 or ATV4K app. |

According to Twitter and their page, the SB will be on there .
Thinking about signing up just for the SB. Are there any codes out there? I couldn't find any. It looks like the regular $4.99/month sub will work. |

Watching Superbowl and the feed looks and sounds great. No pixelation or lag whatsoever.

If you follow Yellowstone, but didn't watch it week to week and subscribe to Peacock, Yellowstone season 4 will be on the service on March 28th

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
I signed up with Peacock for Yellowstone, am 5 episodes into season 1. Good stuff...I wish there was a No Ad version of Peacock though, fucking annoying.
This streamer is pretty solid though. Added some other shows I've been meaning to watch like Ray Donovan. Also carries alot of great true crime documentaries |

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
I have the no-ad version paid in full for the year and just watched the first two episodes of Miami Vice series and see that Peacock inserts 3 very short ads for their own programming in the episodes. They're about 5 seconds or so long. Not a deal breaker at all, because it must be due to certain rights on certain series that they do this on. Miami Vice is the only series I've seen ads for and I've watched quite a few of their programming for months now and no ads before.
|
Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
Yellowstone ads are atrocious. I’m guessing the more popular/newer titles are getting the much longer forced ads, older catalog way less.

So you get $4.39 off vs paying $49.99 for the annual price? Pass.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
Someone tried to hack into my Peacock account last night. I got an email saying if it was me that logged in on a Roku from Montebello, CA. I don’t share my account info and don’t know anyone there.
Changed my password right away. Be careful with your streaming services. A month ago someone hacked into my Disney + account as I started noticing some mysterious watched movies. |
Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
Peacock announced today three upcoming original films scheduled to premiere on the service in 2023: Shooting Stars, Praise This, and The Killer. Each film is part of the previously announced collaboration with Universal Pictures to produce a number of films made exclusively for Peacock. We know people join Peacock to watch movies, so we are constantly adding more to serve fans,” said Kelly Campbell, President, Peacock and Direct-to-Consumer and International, NBCUniversal. “Together with the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, we are excited to deliver fresh, exclusive, original films next year to our customers in addition to the legendary Universal Pictures blockbuster films and beloved franchises streaming now.” The Peacock Originals coming in 2023 from Universal Pictures include the following films:
These new, exclusive original films will join Peacock’s catalogue as the service continues to expand with a range of films for every fan and occasion. |
Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
Lionsgate has signed a multi-year movie output deal with Peacock for all theatrically released Lionsgate films starting with the studio’s 2022 slate. The agreement with the NBCUniversal streaming platform brings movies exclusively to Peacock and NBCUniversal networks for their Pay 2 window, starting in 2024. The first Lionsgate film to hit Peacock will be The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, starring Nicolas Cage. Other titles in the agreement include John Wick: Chapter 4, the Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Expendables 4, Borderlands and Kelly Fremon Craig’s Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, produced by Oscar winner James L. Brooks and adapted from the Judy Blume classic. Lionsgate recently unveiled a film output deal with The Roku Channel that offers that platform the exclusive rights to Lionsgate’s film slate immediately after the first pay theatrical window on Starz. A first short-term window will be followed by a second and more flexible window at a later date. “These agreements affirm the great demand for first-run studio movies across every kind of platform – AVOD, SVOD, basic cable and FAST,” Lionsgate president of worldwide television distribution Jim Packer said in a statement. |
Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
when will the Nic Cage movie be on Peacock and what does Pay 2 window mean?
|
Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
It looks like more and more shows are now under a paywall. I just have a free account and I wanted to watch a Bravo show on break today and you have to have a paid membership to watch them now. I was able to watch them for free previously.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
Presentation-wise I considered Peacock one of the worst services, but they finally added support for Airplay, and it passes 5.1 sound unlike on Chromecast- AND it lets you skip past commercials (I have a few free months of the ad-supported version.) The commercials seem to actually be encoded as part of the show so there isn't any switching to them (and if you do watch them, you don't get the countdown timer onscreen which would piss me off if I were paying to have a commercial run there.) There's no auto-play at least if your device is off or asleep after starting the show, so it doesn't cut the end credits off. You do have to go through the terrible inconvenience of manually starting the next show in a series, but somehow I'll live with that. What's kinda weird is if you have your iphone or ipad set to mirror, it still behaves as it did before (it plays just the sound on the TV in 2-channel stereo while the video keeps playing on the device), you have to hit the Airplay button to get everything on the TV and can't mirror the interface on it in between. On everything else I've used, when you have it on Mirror it'll show whatever is on the device until it plays an audio or video file and then it gets kicked straight to the TV in full quality.
Watched the new Firestarter and the picture quality wasn't that great, but then watched a couple shows and they looked pretty good. Would be better if it worked on Kodi (I think Slyguy wants to get it to work there but hasn't yet), but this is do-able. Most movies still play without commercials on the ad-supported plan, after this expires I'll be a lot more likely to pick up the ad-free service than before, because you can never have too many streaming services. |
Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
The new movie The Northman is now up if you have a premium subscription. Also, Ambulance has been up a few weeks as well.
|
Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
Didn’t care for either. Ambulance much more so. Northman was good, but not as good as everyone made out to be. Ambulance was just one big, chaotic, implausible chase scene. I couldn’t get into at all.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
I wish when I select something to watch on Peacock that they would do a better job of highlighting the icon because as it stands now it's (the icon) is just a little larger than the other icon's and it's difficult to notice your viewing choices.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
I don't really understand how the WWE PPVs work. If you don't watch it live you can't watch it right after? I missed Hell in a Cell and for some reason couldn't watch it at all after the fact.
|
Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
Another thing does the WWE Network on PeacockTV have a live 24/7 channel or is it just only for live events?
There still needs a lot of work to be done on WWE Network for finding programming. |

There still needs a lot of work to be done on WWE Network for finding programming. It's definitely a step down from the legacy WWE Network...in terms of organization, adding of new content, etc. Only upside here (for me) is I previously subscribed to both WWE Network and Peacock, so in theory I'm saving $10 a month...even if the WWE aspect is watered down. |

He likes exploring, he's Caillou So many things to do each day there's something new He'll share them with you, he's Caillou |
Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service
First time I heard of him was when I worked at the Tower Records 800-number. Someone had bought a Caillou VHS tape and wanted to send it back because it had the word "stupid" in it, and "we don't use that word." It took everything I had to not call her stupid, but I just said any issue with the content she would have to take up with the company that put it out; we couldn't take it back unless it was defective as in didn't play properly.
