At least it’s only 7%. I bailed on Apple when they hiked it 40%. Granted that was still less than half of HBO, but they don’t have much content either.

It's $1. That's nothing. The amount of shows and movies that HBO has makes it more than worth it. But luckily I have that 1 year promo locked in that I also got an additional discount using my AMEX card. I'll worry about the new price when the time comes later this year.

re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

I can’t find any mention of it Here but last year maybe after august they offered a monthly $12 plan good for a year.

After the increase was announced I wondered if that would effect these monthly deals.
It appears it effected my plan as it went up $3 to $14.99.

Okay well Nevermind.

looks like I’ve had this deal for a year already.
Interesting that my price went to $15 and not $16 a month.

Guess I’ll be cancelling

“This price increase of one dollar will allow us to continue to invest in providing even more culture-defining programming and improving our customer experience for all users,” the company said in a statement.
That, friends and neighbors, takes some serious balls to say.

Hello

I'm trying to find a bit more on reviews of HBO Max with Ads as to how it all works and just how annoying is it with TV Shos and Movies...The Last of Us series is on and having a PS5 supposedly there's a discount for a Yearly Sub with Ads. We have Amazon and Disney but no ads so don't have nothing to compare before grabbing the deal or not.

I would just pay extra for no ads. All streaming services tend to run the same ads multiple times.

So, Westworld can’t be seen on any non-paying streaming service?

Pretty much. You can either buy it digitally or buy it on optical disc. Or go sailing on the high seas.

Well, that blows. I have the first 2 seasons on Vudu, so might as well make it a set, but thought I could coast on the last two seasons on HM.

Skip three entirely. Just watch a recap. It's awful.

HBO Max was actually broadcasting live International soccer last night. It was USA vs Serbia. I saw a little bit of it and the broadcast quality looked good. Only reason why I heard of it was because one of our reporters at NFL Network Sara Walsh got hired by WB to be a host of the soccer coverage.

Re: HBO Max — Warnermedia streaming service

Season 3 was a boring confusing mess. They really got far away from what made the show cool and interesting. I am not aware of anyone who liked it much.
Season 4 was a lot better and even cool in spots. Then it really shit the bed in the final two episodes. So much so that I didn't mind its cancelation. Still the season is worth watching.

re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

Roku and Tubi will be the free streaming homes for Westworld, Raised by Wolves, The Nevers and other Warner Bros. Discovery content that was recently removed from HBO Max, as part of a co-exclusive deal that all told includes “hundreds” of TV series and movies from the WBD portfolio.

As reported in December, WBD’s plan was to shop the series it had removed from its own subscription streaming service (as part of an expansive and seismic cost-cutting move) and shop them to FAST (free, ad-supported streaming TV) services.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s co-exclusive deals with Roku and Tubi include all seasons of Westworld, Raised by Wolves, The Nevers, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Finding Magic Mike, Head of the Class, Legendary and F-Boy Island, many of which were abruptly disappeared from HBO Max late last year.

TVLine has confirmed that both deals include all 12 episodes of The Nevers, including the final six that have never aired/been seen.

All told, both FAST services will offer up “hundreds of TV series and movies” from the WBD portfolio’s other brands, such as Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network and TLC. That includes the likes of Cake Boss, My Cat from Hell, Breaking Amish, Caribbean Life, How It’s Made, Paranormal Lockdown, The Tomorrow People (I’ve heard of that one!) and My Five Wives, plus select seasons of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.

Tubi says it will begin them rolling out its WBD content “as early as February 1 and throughout the month,” while Roku is simply saying “Spring 2023.”

So the final 6 won't air on HBO Max? That's rather disappointing.

Well, since today is February 1, I checked Tubi for Recently Added:

Lovecraft Country has been added, and has an HBO logo in the bottom right:

Not that I'm going to watch them with ads but do they censor these?

Well, raising extra cash from dead shows that most aren’t watching anymore.

Taken to its logical conclusion this will eventually happen to every back catalog series HBO Max has. Other services have already started copying what HBO Max is doing. It looks like they’ve concluded that back catalog doesn’t attract subs, which taken to its extreme means only the most recent season will be available ad-free. That’s pretty much what CW’s app does already. This destroys the value of an ad-free sub especially if you’re coming to a series late.

No, Tubi doesn’t censor content. I watched an R rated movie once that had nudity and it was there. You just have to deal with the built in ad breaks.

If you use Kodi, you can watch Tubi and Crackle with no commercials. They don’t have 5.1 audio though so wish these shows just stayed on HBOMax.
