Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

Re: HBO Max — Warnermedia streaming service
Titans would be no big loss (and I love the characters, just the show has done nothing with them), but Doom Patrol is the kind of out there, not-stepping-on-anyone's-toes kind of show that you'd think wouldn't interfere with any theatrical plans or anything. Didn't Gunn just reveal he had like a few shows in the works other than Peacemaker? I wonder how many of those are dead.

I was coming here to post the deal offer.
I'm going to do the 1 year no ad deal.
As I started I got a pop from my add-on for Rakuten to get $16 cash back.
Plus Discover card is offering 5% back on Paypal purchases right now.

It's not a matter of DP "stepping on anyone's toes", it's Zaslav being too cheap to pay residuals to the stars on the show. It's cheaper just to cancel the show and yank it from the service completely.

For once my feet dragging has paid off. My sub expired a couple of months ago. I'm going to re-up with the no ads plan. Yes, this flurry of cancelations is crazy and it sucks for those involved, but when I look at the list, none of the affected shows/movies sound interesting to me. (That's not to say ones I do like or want to check out won't get the ax in the future.) Really, I'm just interested in "top tier" content: The Wire, Rick and Morty, South Park, Peacemaker, Barry, Deadwood, Winning Time, etc., as well as the WB movie library. The only show I was getting into during my previous subscription that I think is at risk is The Other Two. It's funny, but is an HBO Max original and only had a little bit of buzz behind it.
And the earlier uproar over pointing out the two services have different viewing demographics is just silly, IMO.

Shit, I’d been skipping through all the old Sesame Streets checking out the segments. Of course the video-based material was encoded wrong anyways and looked terrible, I usually skipped over that. Still hoping for a complete DVD set of the individual segments or at least a better online repository.

My $7.49/mo promo will run out just before the expiration of the $104.99/yr promo. Hopefully can cancel for a day and switch over.

Ugh. I had to reup my subscription annually (no ads) in early July and there were no deals going on then. I even called and begged. No dice.
Anyone know if I can extend by stacking this offer?

I mean it's highly unlikely my kids would even miss the 200 episodes but it still sucks.

I don’t know what today’s kids think of the old Sesame Street, a lot of it was trippy.

My next billing date is on August 21. If I unsubscribe tomorrow, I would be able to re-sub on Monday for the yearly plan with the new discount?

Looks like I'm about to unsub! I've been pound-foolish and subscribing at the monthly rate. Re-upping for a year will be almost half-off.

For those that are close on renewal but after the deal ends, you should be able to create a new account with a different email. I think.

I'd be at least a little bit worried about the permanence of any property on the service besides The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Veep.

But yeah seems foolish long term of HBO because now every single fandom is gonna worry they could get purged in the future so the corporation can save penny's.
