Re: HBO Max — Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020

It’s the same HDX presentation they have in their HBO channels. It’s a really good remaster.

Well Oldboy, you just said you wouldn’t ever watch it all the way through, so I guess DC cut or not, it wouldn’t matter to you.

True Lies and The Abyss have been on HBO for months now. I'm sure it's still the same versions now on HBO MAX.

on cable is all. Pay cable like SHO or HBO. I would rather stream in better quality and start and stop as I please. Streaming always looks better than the cable counterpart.

Hopefully HBO Max makes good and upgrades to 4K for us.

Question to subscribers: when you start an episode of a show, does it still give a 30 second ad for other upcoming HBO content like on HBO Go/Now?

Sometimes. It isn't before every program but it isn't not there.

I almost hate to ask, since I think you mentioned Now before, but you do realize you could've streamed any of these HBO movies (including the ones you're talking about) before Max was around since they were on the HBO service?

Currently the director's cut doesn't exist, but unlike the Snyder cut, all the footage does currently exist. Lots more of Leto's Joker. We will see if it ever comes to pass but if it does, it will likely be very different from what we got.

Any rough estimates on when Roku/Amazon will finally get this?

@ "finally" in relation to a streaming service that has existed for 48 hours now.

But I do hope they resolve the impasse sooner rather than later.

Re: HBO Max — Warnermedia streaming service launches May 2020

I'm waiting for the pandemic to be lifted. I'm waiting for cops to stop murdering black people. And I'm waiting for a streaming service to open. If one of these things happen within a month's time, I'll find Jesus.

Just sideload it on the Amazon devices, it works fine. You may need Mouse Toggle (another app) but I didn't have an issue. No clue on Roku though.
