Many of my SD titles on VUDU transferred to GP/Youtube in HD.

So, I'm not surprised by this in the least, but...

I have several movies I bought in HD on FandangoNow, which were only available as SD on Vudu. Now that I've connected Movies Anywhere, they're SD everywhere else, too. I knew it was unlikely, but I had been hoping that maybe vudu might pass on the HD eligibility. Guess not.

This may have been answered, but will TV shows also transfer over at some point? Looking through my catalog, I don't see any, but I know I own stuff like True Detective (S1 on Vudu and S2 on Google Play).

I know... it's called MOVIES anywhere, but still.

I don't think there's been any official (or even unofficial) answer. Disney Movies Anywhere never did TV shows, although if it's trying to replace Ultraviolet, it does make sense that it would do TV shows down the line, but I wouldn't count on it.

And yeah, it's called Movies Anywhere, but it isn't anywhere either (since it's US-specific)

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I've had titles in SD in iTunes, upgraded to HD/4K in iTunes and HD or UHD in Vudu.

Curious if these are legit bugs, or will be the process going forward (forcing retailers to abandon SD altogether)

Well, I guess the way it "should" (they have a lot of kinks to work out) work is if you buy it in HD and it's available in HD on other platforms, it should transfer as such. If I buy a title in SD, it will probably transfer over to HD as long as its available in other platforms. If only SD is available, then it will just stay that way. Craziness, at least a disc is still a disc. At least until the disc police comes around and starts asking for them back.

Yeah, that's the way it should work between the four major retailers, but in my case, vudu is acting like a bridge between UV (and fandango) and MA (and the other providers).

I'm guessing the best bet for getting those movies in HD on sites other than Fandango is either for Fandango to join MA, or for vudu to get an HD copy of those movies.

Where are you guys seeing these extras at? Vudu, iTunes, MA?
I see some on Vudu.
I saw on my iTunes yesterday Mad Max Fury Road had the Black & Chrome version, but I couldn't play it.

The ones we mentioned were on Movie Anywhere's website, but there will probably be some at Vudu, Itunes, etc. I know I've gotten extras on vudu through movies I got there through UV (the ones with the vudu extras tab)

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

So Movies Anywhere doesn't allow you to sort movies you own, although the app does (alphabetically, or date of release). That said, it's slow to sort (takes like 10 seconds), and it's not completely accurate (It shows The Long, Long Trailer getting released after Rogue One. Who knew Lucille Ball was still starring in movies?)

There is, available in the Google Play store.

Edit: Looks like it's in the Amazon app store as well, if you want to install it on a Kindle.

Sure enough, there it is. I didn't see it when I searched the Google Play store earlier this morning.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

As I mentioned in the Kinda All Streaming Deals thread, it appears that (at least for me) MA-eligible UV purchases made at Fandango Now after linking Vudu to MA will transfer to VUDU but will not appear in Movies Anywhere. I wanted to check if unlinking and re-linking my VUDU account might make it show up there, but I first wanted to make sure there's no problem with unlinking and re-linking to the same VUDU account. There's no problem with doing that, is there?

i'm sorry, i'm still a little confused, how do i port my Amazon movies (of which i don't think are many) into Vudu using Movies Anywhere? And some movies port and some don't?

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I had to call VUDU about something, and while on the phone, I asked the CSR about movies that I have in hdx that are showing up as UHD on I-Tunes, and if those will eventually be available in UHD on vudu at no charge. I was told that they would be, and it should take about a week for those movies to be UHD on Vudu (Man of Steel, and Lego Movie were two specific titles that I was told would be upgraded at no charge)

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

and does it tell you how many movies i have in Movies Anywhere? i couldn't see a number, only my titles...

and why am i not showing a single movie in UV website?

Lots of my DMA content including, I think, all my MCU content didn't transfer over. Are you guys seeing your Marvel films in your MA library? It's especially weird since DMA is disbanding.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Got the new movies anywhere account and they added:
Ice and and new Ghostbusters to iTunes.
Jason Bourne to Vudu.
Also looks like they added all my iTunes movies to VUDU.

However my other VUDU movies didn't copy over to iTunes.

Movies ANywhere UI is meh. They relaly need to add text titles. With a large collection, it is hard to find a movie just with the cover pictures.

I still prefer iTunes. But VUDU and Movies ANywhere should work good for sharing.

The Roku app shows the amount of movies on top.

And remember, this has nothing to do with UV, so don’t expect anything really changed with what you see there. The intent of MA is to basically take the place of UV. Studios like the MA digital key locker since it has better encryption. Like Kedrix said, it’s a long way off from fully replacing UV, but that is the intention of why MA was created. In fact, on Vudu, the option that said “redeem Ultraviolet code” now says “redeem digital code”.

I don't show that one either. Going through MCU, I do have Thor Dark World, Captain : America Winter Soldier, Guardians 1, and Iron Man 3, but not Avengers 1 & 2, Thor 1, Iron Man 2, Captain America 1 or 3, Dr Strange, Ant Man, Guardians Vol 2. All of those are on DMA still.

It might take me a while but it kind of looks like I'm getting the same hit/miss ratio on my other DMA titles. I'm a little freaked out about it since DMA is going away and I can't unlink/link the accounts like I can with VUDU/Amazon/iTunes.

And presently my UV locker states I have ZERO items... Fortunate I can still check it at Flixster Video (can't redeem or watch but it still shows collection).

Wonder if MA is causing a hammer of sync to and from UV via the services that are both and is causing UV issues now.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I had redeemed a few "iTunes only" digital movies years ago despite not using itunes, it's nice to now see them in Vudu so I can watch them. I may have to go back and look through my dvd/Blu-ray cases and see if there are more iTunes only redemptions I didn't redeem.
