Watching it on blu is the only way to see the WB logo at the beginning now.

That happened with Heat also being a Regency release. Initial releases were WB. Now rights have changed to FOX.

I know for a fact it's a Warner Brothers movie - - it was one of my very first DVDs purchased along with Boogie Nights - both were in Snapper cases, which were only used by WB/New Line. How did the rights for this relatively recent, high-profile Oscar winning title switch studios?
Yeah, LAC in the crappy WB cardboard snapper was one of my first DVDs, so I always associate it (and Heat, as Djariya mentioned) with Warner. I saw that sale with LAC and assumed it was Warner, but then clicked in and got confused. I thought maybe it was cross-studio but didn’t think much about it after that.

I’m glad I hang out with other people who look at a sale and immediately know which studio is running it. Worst superpower ever! (But hey, it was important info during the HD wars!)

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Feel free to jump all over me if this sounds totally idiotic, but how did I not know that streaming through MA reveals all sorts of extras one can't see on VUDU, as well as iTunes extras, without the need to screencast or have an Apple device?

I feel like half of my digital library just got a huge upgrade.

It's pretty cool. A few movies have Director/Unrated Cuts as extras.

I noticed that Salt Unrated has the theatrical as an extra. I’ll have to go through my library again tp see what there is.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Theatrical) includes the Unrated Version as an extra, and vice versa, so whichever version you own, you can play both.

I thought it would be useless but those lists are actually kind of cool for organizing franchises.

This last category is kind of pointless though :

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I've found Vudu's list feature to be quite useful, so I'm glad MA implemented it, too. And thanks to the pre-made lists, now if I want to watch a "harsh action drama", I know where to go!

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

so i downloaded a movie from one of those old digital copes you used to get like years ago, Fright Night (2011). i bought a used set on AM and the digital copy which was a disc i had to insert into portable disc drive for pc, since it doesn't have and it redeemed. the fucker redeemed in iTunes and then ported to Vudu since MA. i couldn't believe after 10 years, used and still worked. you can't even buy 2D on Vudu, only rent and you can rent HDX. but, only buy 2D with $35 2D/3D bundle. so i couldn't believe redeemed and ported, but only in SD.

question...it only ported to Vudu in SD. anyone know why that would be? thx.

The disc digital copies always seem to be SD copies. iTunes probably gave you a free HD upgrade, but it ported to Vudu and other MA services as SD. Usually if you redeem a code on iTunes, they give it to you in the highest quality available, but it ports to MA in the original code quality.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I only had seven movies showing up on the website and Roku App. I contacted support and they refreshed my account and my movies went back to 546. Weird. The support agent said it happened to someone else yesterday.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Submitted the code from our Blu ray for High Note to MA. Transaction history shows as HD which is accurate. Yet Amazon shows we own it in 4K.

Most times when it is a resolution mismatch, it is a lower resolution on 1 or more MA providers, not a higher resolution.

I did check the 4K sheet first to see if entering it at Apple would provide an upgrade. It doesn't as Apple only provides up to HD at this time. So I figured I'd just submit at MA.

And Amazon must have caught the "upgrade" as now they no longer show UHD owned for High Note

It looks like Screen Passes are ending soon.

Effective May 1, users will no longer be able to send a Screen Pass. As of June 1, the Screen Pass feature will no longer be supported. For more information, visit our Help Center.
