Yeah, Fast Five was upgraded to HD.

Odd that buying digital Disney movies doens't get DMR points anymore. Oh well.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Is there a way within Movies Anywhere to change my email address or login preferences? All I can see on the website is the ability to change my first name and movie rating threshold. I tried searching their help but only found stuff about changing my password (which I can only do by logging out?!).

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I had a movie that wasn't porting over to MA from iTunes. I gave it a few days hoping it would fix itself. Then I contacted MA customer support on chat. They asked me to email them some proof of purchase (receipt, pic of BD case or digital copy slip, etc). I sent them a screenshot of the movie in my iTunes library and a screenshot from the movie page showing it was HD. They manually added the movie to my MA library, and it transferred over to the other services immediately. The whole thing took about 10 minutes.

So if you're having problems with a movie that's stuck, try MA support chat.

In regards to the post on the last page. If I redeem a digital copy code from a dvd I purchase it will be in SD, and if its a bluray it will be in HD?

For the most part, yes. Though there are a handful of DVDs that will actually give you HD copies, but they almost always says so right on the code or on the movie case.

I've noticed a lot of blu-rays redeeming for UHD copies at VUDU lately too.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

After many customer service phone calls and live chats, I've collected the following info.

Via VUDU everything UV sync'd to MA and MA to UV when MA went live, even the SD to HD upgrades.

Anything that came from MA to VUDU is not meant to port to UV even if the title is both MA and UV nor anything that came to VUDU from UV (other than from FlixsterVideo, Universal, Warner Brothers, or Sony).

VUDU and MA recently fixed it so nothing that is coming in SD will upgrade to HD. Anything we had upgraded to HD prior to the fix will still be HD.

They recently updated VUDU so that UV does not port to MA or vice versa. This caused the missing titles for everyone. Some folks got them back. Like myself, some did not get everything back.

Universal is no longer a retailer of digital content. If you want to redeem a code, it sends you to FandangoNow, VUDU, or MA. It is now no longer linked to my UV locker either.

Now my whine ---
I still have 14 titles that came MA into UV via VUDU that are now no longer in my UV and per VUDU help desk, they never will.

I still have 16 titles that came UV into MA via VUDU that are now no longer in my MA and per MA help desk, they might be re-inserted soon. Not holding my breath.

Reviewing my old emails from CinemaNow, I've discovered many titles (mostly TV Shows that were once UV) and 1 Movie that are gone from my UV. Many of which are either no longer available via VUDU or are no longer UV.

I've spent way too much time inventorying my digital collection to uncover all the mess ups. Never had that issue when I sorted and organized my DVDs and Blu-rays.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Received a response from UV customer support and this is the 3rd time they have been no help and are referring me to someone else. In this case CinemaNOW (who is gone as we know).

Why mention this in the MA thread?

Because more and more UV is becoming less and less useful as well as less and less helpful. Makes me wonder how long before they themselves disappear.

If they do, let's hope MA gets all the other studios as well as TV shows or at least buys UV and makes it better.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Oh, of course, I think it's been obvious for several months that UV is on life support. If not for VUDU, it would be dead. Besides the retailer problem, the studios are seemingly preparing for life after UV by jumping aboard MA. We can only hope that MA will honor all the UV entitlements when it goes under.

Is that confirmed? The last purchase I made from FandangoNow (last week) ported over to MoviesAnywhere (through ultraviolet and vudu), but it's troubling if future purchases won't.

Unlikely, given Vudu isn't passing on otherwise eligible UV rights if they originate from MA or an MA retailer. It's almost like Vudu is helping kill UV.

It could be just an excuse given to me from VUDU technical support. She was firm that if bought from VUDU, then it will go to both but if coming to VUDU from either should not go to the other.

I think UV is dying and VUDU knows it. I knew when MA arrived that UV would quickly get abandoned by Hollywood.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I've heard that iTunes/Google/Amazon purchases that link into Vudu from MA will not port to UV. However UV titles redeemed will port to MA; and purchases/redeems on Vudu will give UV and MA for dual eligible titles. It's been speculated that Vudu has to pay for UV rights when they link in a title on UV so would be stuck with quite an expense for no profit if they let MA titles port into UV.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

All of my dual MA and UV titles fully cross located originally. I don't know if it was when they changed the process or if it was when I had an issue and was suggested I unlink and relink all services from both MA and UV which re synced everything.

Indiana Jones on MA? Not sure if Paramount or Disney has the digital rights.

Paramount does. It's not a MA title.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Actually, on reflection, about 99% of my UV title purchases/redemptions have been on VUDU, so all those titles that are MA-eligible have already been added to my MA library via VUDU. The only UV titles from my library that I'm missing are Paramount and Lionsgate (and I don't really have any TV content), so as long as those 2 studios join MA before UV kicks the bucket, UV's demise would not affect me hardly at all.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

If you go to myuv.com > My Library and use the Filters>Retailers it will break down exactly where they came from. Just by clicking the Retailers drop down it will tell you how many from each retailer you redeemed at.
Clicking each movie will show you the date and quality (SD, HD, UHD).

When I was looking into my movies showing as SD, I found I had 10 movies all from the same date in 2013 from CinemaNow. It must have been a promotion or something because at least half of them I don't even own in any disc format, and they were bought after 2013. (EDIT: Just GTS'd: https://www.cnet.com/news/get-10-fre...rom-cinemanow/)
Supposedly, I have seen other people say that if you email them, they will provide you a detailed list of your UV titles. You can even ask them to only send Movies or TV.

My breakdown:
CinemaNow 10
FandangoNow 17
Paramount 26
Sony 81
Universal 1 (Airport, I remember that was a free promotion)
VUDU 685
Flixster 59

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

I didn't realize we could filter by retailer. That is a great feature.

Other features I find superior on myUV are
1- whether the title is supposed to be SD, HD, or UHD
2- when a title was obtained
3- filter by movies vs TV (This helps to see movie titles only)
4- filter by genre (might be useful)
5- filter by rating (not sure I'd use that)

I wish MA had all these features as well.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

From some redemptions I've done recently, I found the following to be true.

Titles coming UV to VUDU no matter the source seem to still go to MA.
Titles coming MA to VUDU no matter the source do not go to UV.

I've had most of my missing title returned that were UV to VUDU to MA by MA actually returning them via their customer service.

None of the former MA to VUDU to UV are back at UV nor will anyone take ownership. UV said it was a VUDU issue, VUDU said it was a MA issue, MA said it was a VUDU issue. Then it fits what I was told with the no MA to UV via VUDU.

Re: Movies Anywhere - News, Rumors & Discussion

Everything that went from UV to MA via VUDU appears to have been returned (it was missing for a few days).

Everything that went from MA to UV via VUDU appears to have been yanked permanently.
