Finally signed up for this service. So I wanted to watch The First Power and the Kino Lorber BD is OOP and $80, so the only alternative streaming service that has it is Tubi. Looks and sound great The ads are few and far between. Not a bad service coming in to save the day. The irony is that I used to own that Kino BD but sold it off year ago. I should have kept it. Oh well.

Tubi has so much streaming content. If you see a movie for sale on VUDU etc, it's most likely also streaming free on Tubi.

The original Fantasy Island (all 7 seasons) and the failed 1998 reboot (13 episodes) are now on Tubi as of May 1
I watched 1 episode of the old Fantasy Island yesterday and the commercial breaks weren't too bad. |

Now that Ms. .45 is OOP from Alamo on BD, Tubi is the next best thing for free. |

Impressed with Tubi's offerings vs. all the competing free ad supported streaming platforms.
Their documentary and rare movie selection is outstanding as is their classic TV series. Pair this with Pluto TV and nostalgia for the "old days" is pretty easy to achieve. |

Tubi is ok if you don’t mind the 720p/30Hz encodes. I’m not big on watching 23Hz content encoded @ 30Hz.

Having gotten an Nvidia Shield this week which includes Kodi (I also installed that on my Amazon Fire Stick but it was kinda glitchy) I found among many things that you can watch Tubi and Crackle with NO commercials. I'm using Hulu through Kodi also since it plays 4K content properly and Airplay doesn't; I'm wondering if I downgraded my subscription on that if it would still also play there with no commercials.

Roku and Tubi will be the free streaming homes for Westworld, Raised by Wolves, The Nevers and other Warner Bros. Discovery content that was recently removed from HBO Max, as part of a co-exclusive deal that all told includes “hundreds” of TV series and movies from the WBD portfolio. As reported in December, WBD’s plan was to shop the series it had removed from its own subscription streaming service (as part of an expansive and seismic cost-cutting move) and shop them to FAST (free, ad-supported streaming TV) services. Warner Bros. Discovery’s co-exclusive deals with Roku and Tubi include all seasons of Westworld, Raised by Wolves, The Nevers, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Finding Magic Mike, Head of the Class, Legendary and F-Boy Island, many of which were abruptly disappeared from HBO Max late last year. TVLine has confirmed that both deals include all 12 episodes of The Nevers, including the final six that have never aired/been seen. All told, both FAST services will offer up “hundreds of TV series and movies” from the WBD portfolio’s other brands, such as Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network and TLC. That includes the likes of Cake Boss, My Cat from Hell, Breaking Amish, Caribbean Life, How It’s Made, Paranormal Lockdown, The Tomorrow People (I’ve heard of that one!) and My Five Wives, plus select seasons of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. Tubi says it will begin them rolling out its WBD content “as early as February 1 and throughout the month,” while Roku is simply saying “Spring 2023.” |

Yep, 720 and 2-channel sound- though it is at 24fps on Kodi. The Roku apps don't always put out 24fps even if the video is flagged for it. If they're going to get the exclusive rights to recent shows, then they need to step up the quality.

That’s outrageous. Midday and live only? It’s what I’d do if I wanted to prove the series has no audience. I don’t know why Tubi would want to catastrophically limit their audience like this.

So they are showing them like they are on live TV with commercials too? :lol: That's not ideal at all. And they're airing when most are at work. It's like..."Sorry boss I have to miss the staff meeting, I have to catch the live 1:48pm showing of The Nevers or I'll miss it this cycle" :lol:
You literally have to be glued to Tubi those days and there are no on demand options. It's like Fuck you, if you didn't watch this on HBO we're going to make it harder and next to impossible to catch them. |
