Is there going to be a free trial?

On the digital comic books, are they going to be read out loud and turn the pages on their own(both optional???)?

Are you going to be able to read the comics with a Roku device?

There is a 7 day free trial according to the web site.

And the comics you will have to turn the pages on your own through your device. No books on tape audio. Watch the demo a few pages page. They show the interface.

FYI, this is officially live on the web and Android devices. Launched a few days early.

I assume iOS will launch this weekend.

I have a Nvidia Shield and it's live on Android TV.

Just skimming through it and as mentioned it doesn't have everything yet. It has 27 movies and 9 live action TV series, 12 animated shows up right now. The Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney Batman movies aren't up yet. They probably will on Saturday since this is officially launching on Batman day. DC Universe site says Batman Ninja is supposed to be available on launch day.

But, it does have the old George Reeves Superman TV show (all 6 seasons)

Batman the animated series only has 2 seasons up right now.

I watched a few episodes of Superfriends.

Took a look at the comic interface and it's very smooth, big and colorful.

Hope to see a little more content when it officially launches on Saturday. I'd like to see how the Roku and iOS interfaces look.

Just checked Wonder Woman 1975 and one of the episodes was actually in 16:9. I don't know if that was a glitch or what.

This in a way feels like they dropped the beta version a few days early.

And it looks like the message board and shop content are only for the web right now.

Now up on Roku

Definitely feels like the beta version. Hopefully when it launches on Saturday it will feel a little more polished.

Are the other direct to video animated features on it (I guess besides the ones they licensed to Amazon)?

Some are. I count 16 including the new Death of Superman film.

So is it all within the DC All Access app or is it a separate app?

Separate app. DC Universe app.

Android TV version is up- much better organized than the Apple TV app.

Not a lot of content tho- I guess it's too much to expect surround sound?

I'll probably wait for all of Titans to drop and then I'll binge it.

It does have auto play for the comics and switches from panel to panel but haven't completely tried it out.

I’ve only had time to skim through the comic selection so far, but it doesn’t look too good. It seems there’s a lot of #1 issues without later ones, especially with Rebirth, which is what I was most looking forward to reading. Kinda like Comixology but worse, since CU at least would have the first several issues free.
My opinion may change once I have time to delve in a bit more.

Wow, Human Target is on there. Both seasons. I might revisit the first season as it at least had the hot chick of the week angle. The second season....blah.

Here’s a list of TV shows based on DC comics.

Regarding old live action shows, the biggest omission appears to be the old Batman TV show with Adam West and Burt Ward. A more obscure one is the 1970s Shazam show.

There were at least two serials from the 1940's:

Superman
Batman(James Bond Producer Michael Wilson's dad played Batman)

Columbia/Sony owns the Batman series.

So Shazam (and Isis) is on there or it isn't? If it isn't that seems like an odd omission unless they're saving it for closer to the movie launch.

Probably wasn't clear but neither are on there.

It’s weird to me that they launched this with no new content. I mean I guess this gives people a test run of what to expect but it seems like it would have made more sense to have had a couple originals up rather than old movies and shows. Especially when you go through the shows and realize they’re a bunch that lasted for a short period and were probably cancelled early for a reason.

re: DC Universe streaming service

I just wrote them demanding a full refund of my pre-order. I have zero interest in only reading #1 issues.

And the FAQ on their site says to cancel, click the setting button on the top right of the screen. However that button does not exist on the 4 browsers I tried, so I just went straight to customer service.
