Add-on Subscriptions?

I noticed that Amazon Prime offer's quite a few streaming services. Are these the exact same as the original service? Full Moon Streaming looked a little different at Amazon and didn't see Something Weird Video's being offered. I didn't get the free trial because I needed some question's answered.

Edit-Too answer my own question-I called Amazon and they said it was the exact same. Plus you are allowed unlimited streams, where at Full Moon Streaming site-you are allowed only one stream per customer(unless they have changed it recently).

I had to call Full Moon Streaming too cancel. Couldn't log in on my lap top.

I have the one week free trial with Amazon Prime and I'm still not noticing any Something Weird Video's.

My original subscription is still good until next month. I checked for Something Weird Video's and there are only six at the present time.

Re: Add-on Subscriptions?

There were a few movies from Shudder that weren't available at the Amazon Add-On. Although they may have been added since the rollout.

Amazon has some different versions than the other services. For example, An American Werewolf in London is Fullscreen at Shudder, and it's Widescreen at Amazon. One of my problems with FullMoonStreaming is that a bunch of movies in the Grindhouse section had faulty transfers (squished video, windowboxed, etc). I contacted them a few times, but they never fixed them. I wonder if Amazon has better versions?

Re: Add-on Subscriptions?

That's probably why the Something Weird Videos aren't there because they aren't top notch video quality. I received emails from Full Moon saying they were trying too improve.

Approx. how many movies are offered by Shutter (through Amazon Prime)?

I have EPIX streaming and they offer thousands of movies(free with tv subscription) . That's hard too top.

Re: Add-on Subscriptions?

Amazon lists 353 movies for Shudder. The Shudder website lists 386 movies. So Amazon's add-on service is missing 33 movies. Doing a quick search, it looks like it's mostly new movies that were just added in the past month.

Today adding Scream Box to my Amazon Prime.

Also just added Directv Now (35 for 100 plus channels). This isn't an add-on.

I recently dropped:
Exploitation TV
NWA Classics on Demand
Futbul TV

HBO through Amazon is $14.99 as an add-on and CInemax is $9.99.

I wanted Cinemax when they still had Strike Back and Banshee. :( I guess I could watch Outcast or whatever.

Re: Add-on Subscriptions?

What's the advantage of getting subscriptions through Hulu or Amazon? Hulu only allows one stream so does that mean you can't stream Showtime(through Hulu) and Hulu at the same time?

The reason I switched Full Moon Streaming to Amazon from their site was because I could only stream on one device and couldn't watch it on another(a real pain in the ass).

I'd much rather subscribe to HBO/SHO/MAX through Amazon. You can sign-up or cancel with one click.

So much easier than dealing with my cable company. I'd waste 30 minutes on hold, then sit through another 30 minutes of some cable lackey with a computer that's always frozen and trying to upsell me on home security systems. And just before he finally updates my account, he puts me on hold and I get disconnected.

What's with Cinemax? They have an Amazon Channel but not a Roku Channel of their own?

Re: Add-on Subscriptions?

Cinemax don't even support Chromecast. It's pretty clear that their original programming is high-priority enough for HBO to push them very hard.

I'd say the main advantages would be centralized billing (one bill from Amazon/Hulu instead of bills from them and from other services) and app availability. My wife signed up for Dramafever, but couldn't watch it on our main TV for a while since there wasn't an Xbox One app for it initially. There is an Amazon Video app though, and a subscription option for Dramafever. Eventually, Dramafever released its own XB1 app, but there's probably other platforms where they don't have one, but Amazon does.

It depends on the cable company. I can alter my FiOS service online. Also, some of those have their own standalone services that don't require cable service (e.g. HBO Now), so you could go that way instead of through Amazon.

Outcast and Quarry are amazing shows.

I have the Shout Factory TV and Comic Con HQ add-ons. The latter has The Prisoner, but is missing the first episode for no reason. Shout had Super Sentai, but that moved to CCHQ, making me spend more. I'm inches from dropping both.

I got Showtime just to watch The Affair season 3. Unfortunately I needed one day longer than the seven-day free trial. :(
