Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

Picked up in the Disney sale:

The Aristocats
Mr Holland's Opus
Ice Princess
O Brother Where Art Thou
Evita
National Treasure 2
While You Were Sleeping
Barbra Streisand Concert 2006

Only the Streisand hasn't traveled to MA, which doesn't surprise me.

Haven't pulled the trigger on Princess Diaries since I have both on BD already.

Also resisting the higher-priced items such as The Rock, National Treasure, and Con Air.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

I set a limit that I wouldn't buy anything higher than $7.99 in the Disney sale and also a quantity cap. I went over the cap slightly but didn't cave on the higher priced items.

Babs was part of the 99 cent Amazon sale, not the Disney/Touchstone sale.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

From Amazon.com's 99 cents craziness I grabbed Return of the Swamp Thing, Hell Comes to Frogtown (SD Only) and Bitcoin Heist.

From the $7.99 Disney sale at Vudu, I held myself just to Captain Ron. $7.99-20% off coupon was just too much to resist for one of my favorite movies.

For a $20 Vudu Credit, enter the following code. Not sure how long it will be active

Yes, you’re right. I was shopping both at the same time and merged them in my mind.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

Keep in mind if you buy any of the Disney sale titles from Amazon, be sure to check to see if there are "Bonus Feature" versions for the same price. Some have them, some do not. I was able get 3 of mine that had Bonus versions refunded so I could re-purchase the Bonus versions.

Turns out that the Bonus version of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" from Amazon has issues coming into MA. I have been on chat with MA support and Amazon Support for about 2 hours. Still not fixed but both have escalated the issue.

It would seem that a title coming into Amazon has provides the Bonus version on Amazon, but we must purchase the Bonus version from Amazon if wanting it to port out. Seems odd to me.

Wanted to expand on this now that I've received a communication back from MA. MA stated that the w/Bonus version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit is not a title that Movies Anywhere has in their library while the w/o Bonus they do have.

So I share caution if buying MA titles from Amazon that have Bonus Content as you may find these titles, while theoretically same as the non Bonus Content versions, will not pass to and through MA.

Considering this, I will make sure in some cases to buy from another provider so when coming into Amazon I will own the Bonus Content version on Amazon.

Did you try getting it from MA?

Try either of the links below. Maybe Dinsey has removed it.

Yeah, from my understanding, Aladdin has gone back into the "Disney Vault" and won't be available for a number of years.

Yeah, vudu won't allow you to search for movies that it no longer sells, even if you own it. You would have to go into your collection to find it (or go directly to the page through a link like above)

The Disney/Touchstone sale is now available on Microsoft Movies & TV.

I redeemed a bunch of Bing Rewards points and got some free movies.

I bought the stage version of Newsies on Amazon because it had bonus content that other sites didn't. I did get the vanilla version on other services via MA, though.

Yeah, that's standard for most services, I think.

The annoying thing is when a service replaces a version of a movie. I'll see the new version with a prompt to purchase, which may trick me into a re-buy unless I remember I already own it and dig into my collection to find the old version.

I’ve never really looked into Bing Rewards. Do we/you have a cheat sheet on using it?

It's actually Microsoft Rewards. You get points for using Bing search engine, doing daily quizzes, and shopping at the Microsoft Store. You won't get rich overnight, but eventually they add up. I usually cash in once or twice a year and get store credit to buy a free game.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

Thanks guys. I’m somehow level 2 and have a few thousand points, despite never using Bing or seeing these reward quizzes before today. I guess my very limited Xbox activity has been earning me points somehow. But cool, i’ll try to remember to check this each day, and do some bing searches instead of google.
