A few of the original movies that Disney+ and hulu "disappeared" from their services last year are $4.99 on Itunes.

There are probably more, but the ones I saw included:
The One and Only Ivan
Stargirl
Artemis Fowl
Roseline
Crater
Darby and the Dead

Only Amazon freebie I didn't have was The Replacements. I have down that I got You Me Dupree for free from Ashley formerly on Google+ now MeWe.

idk if these were pulled from Disney+ but some new all time $4.99 lows:
Cheaper by the Dozen
Flora & Ulysses
Better Nate Than Ever
Hollywood Stargirl
Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made

Touchstone:
Nothing to Lose
Metro
Holy Man

Other/Newer:
The Menu
The Boogeyman

Try as I might, I can't bring myself to click 'buy' on Ernest Saves Christmas.

Is it (and the others) still showing free for you? They all show a cost for me.

Edit: Never mind, the noted forum mentions that they have been fixed.

Everything but Fugitive and Elm Street got taken out of my library- bastards!

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

Wow most of those freebies were deleted from my library. I stlll have Nightmare on Elm Street and You, Me and Dupree.

Just shows again, these digital titles don’t belong to you and can be taken away anytime.

No it doesn't. If you got it for free, it can be taken away in exchange for a full refund of your purchase price!

The only one I have left is You Me Dupree. I already had Fugitive and Elm Street.

Can’t afford to give away that cash cow Ernest Saves Christmas!

I mean sure they didn’t cost me anything so no skin off my back. But again you’re buying an extended license to watch digital titles. Even with titles I purchased previously, they can still be taken away should a license expire say 2, 3 years from now and Vudu or whoever is under no obligation to issue a full refund.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

 and Disney movie insiders just credited me 150 points for Ernest saves Christmas, which is now gone.

at least I got something out of it.

I just got notice of that also. Hope they don’t end up counting that as “fraudulent” and kill my account, I’ve heard of them doing that to some people with no notice.

Wonder if my Christmas Story HD-DVD has rotted? I had at least two Fugitive HD-DVDs rot but those were defective transfers anyways.

Well, now I don't feel so bad about missing out on those freebies yesterday. I tried all of them yesterday afternoon and the prices had all been fixed by then. Sorry they didn't let you guys keep them, though.

Kurt D 03-28-24 12:34 PM

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

I shoulda watched them all last night! Still have NOES as of right now. It says 'Acquired on March 27, 2024'
Oddly, A Clockwork Orange says 'Acquired on
March 27, 2024' as well, though I got that through some other service long ago. I wonder if they tried to delete it and then added it back?

While what you say is technically correct, #1) it hasn't actually happened yet for major studio films (I did lose a few documentaries and features when Cinema Now and old Fandango Now went under) and #2) what transpired yesterday is in no way related to that. Grabbing something for free that shouldn't be free and then losing that license is WAY different from actually buying something and losing the license.

I still have “Sex Tape” from when that was mistakenly listed for free BEFORE the release date even!

No more points. They got taken away.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

My guess is that Amazon screwed up and then the studios wanted them to pay the standard royalty fee for every movie they gave away. Amazon figured it was better to take the PR hit than pay the money.

DJariya 03-28-24 05:00 PM

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

Amazon sent me a few emails about the whole mess with the freebies that weren't supposed to be free due to an error.

Alan Smithee 03-28-24 06:55 PM

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

I got emails confirming the purchases but none about the removals. This is the first time I’ve seen digital movies taken away from a screw-up, every other time they’ve just eaten them and maybe someone got fired.
