re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Random, but I recently discovered that Pluto TV has a Bob Barker era The Price is Right channel. Kinda fun to watch. Pluto is actually a fun service for something that’s free.

Pluto TV Will Add Classic CBS Shows to Free Streaming Lineup This Fallhttps://www.cordcuttersnews.com/plut...eup-this-fall/The Odd Couple Sabrina The Teenage Witch Brady Bunch The Fugitive Hawaii Five-O (1968) Touched By An Angel Medium Numbers Diagnosis Murder Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman Charmed (1998) One On One Half & Half Webster The Parkers Taxi Again, what is the point of subcribing to Paramount+? Recently Pluto TV has evrn added new channels for Perry Mason, The Andy Griffith Show, Matlock, Gunsmoke and etc. |
re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Pluto is ad supported in order for it to be free, so all programs even on demand have commercials.
and Paramount + has as an original series library including Evil, the Star Trek series, The Good Fight etc. and movies that will stream 45 days after theaters. That in addition to their catalog titles. It's not a great service like HBO Max yet, but it's not just a hub for CBS shows like the previous CBS All-Access. I know not everyone finds the same kind of value for all these streaming services. If using ad supported Pluto works for you to catch old shows, then awesome for you. |
re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
I use Pluto for old shows, and I love it. Just turn on a channel and do an easy marathon.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
I think Pluto is pretty cool for what it is. Sure it’s ad based, but seeing that it’s free it doesn’t bother me much. It’s a pretty good little service in my opinion. I like their specialty channels various programs (Star Trek, The Price is Right, etc.).

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
If it's just something I'll watch in the background while I'm doing something else, I'm ok with the commercials as is. But if it's something I actually want to watch (like Tokushoutsu) it's super, super annoying.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Was it a Roku-only app initially? Not that it's a big deal but the thread title might need to be edited.
|
re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
It was added to LG TVs and recently most of its channels were added to the main internet channels (previously just from Xumo, now with both) that appear with the off-air stations.

Pluto TV is reprising its summer movie event with a rotating batch of more than 200 films coming to the streaming service — all for the low price of free. The titles include installments of fan-favorite franchises ahead of their upcoming new releases in theaters this summer, including the first four movies in the Indiana Jones and Mission: Impossible series, plus “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.” Pluto TV’s Popcorn Summer Movies 2023 slate, the third year of the programming event, also includes popular films such as “Titanic,” “Gladiator,” “Old School,” “Saving Private Ryan,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” The additional movies are on top of Pluto TV’s existing catalog of several thousand free films. re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Well, I know this forum mostly doesn't watch Live TV and content with ads. But, this seems like pretty cool news.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Just came here to post that as well. Guess I'll add a new fav channel to my Pluto list. And I watch Pluto all the time. These 24 hour channels are perfect background TV.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Yeah Pluto is my go to channel. It's my "Live" channel and I hit it before going to my paid streamers. The Godzilla channel sounds great. a few channels already show lots of Godzilla films but that's ok.
|
re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
We watch Pluto as time filling watching in between paid streaming content.
Not particularly a Godzilla fan but I'll watch Jack Tripper and Alex Keaton all damn day long ;) |
re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
I've watched The Best Years of Our Lives twice in the past few weeks on Pluto TV, it's a great channel.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Andy Griffith Show is my go to. Though we're in the post Knotts color episodes now. Booooo.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Lately I've been checking out the Music Video Channels and some are pretty good. I really like their "70's" channel because it shows all kinds of 70's Music Videos, Pop, Rock, R&B, etc.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Having a Godzilla Chanel 24/7 has reinforced my long held belief that TOHO hasn't really made that many great G-Films. They've made decent ones,ok ones, good ones... but few that are truly great. :( The 70's,90's, and Millennial films don't hold up that well. When one is into a G-film the cheesy sfx can be part of it's charm i guess. but when you look at them with different eyes, wow...

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
I've been watching NewsRadio and Rules of Engagement on one of the general sitcom channels. Obviously NR is a classic, but RoE is just funny. I know it's all awful: wives are shrews, women are sex objects, sensitive men are gay, the POC is mistreated. I don't know what to say, Puddy and Joe Dirt make me laugh.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
My youngest is hooked on Three's Company. They go through all 8 seasons in about 2-3 days nonstop so we sometimes get repeats but they're cool with it. This was a favorite of mine as a little kid so this has been a fun show to watch together.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"
Pluto added a Lions Gate Studio movie channel. High quality titles on there.
