Shudder announced that they have renewed original series The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs for a third season in 2021.
If you are a fan of Shudder series The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, this news no doubt brings you great joy, along with the sadness that comes with waiting almost a full year. But, wait, there’s more! On August 14 at 9:00 pm, Joe Bob and his crew will be presenting the Summer Sleepover double feature, with special guest Adam Green.
Green is a horror filmmaker/actor, known for the Hatchet franchise, Digging up the Marrow, and the criminally underappreciated films Grace and Frozen (NOT the Disney cartoon). The Summer Sleepover will also feature some surprise guests (please bring Felissa Rose back).
Shudder also announced that there will be several The Last Drive-In specials at the end of this year and the beginning of 2021. In 2019, there were Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas specials, so we can probably expect the same this year.
Shudder General Manager Craig Engler said The Last Drive-In has always trended in the top ten on Twitter during its Friday night episodes, and also “drives tremendous on-demand viewing.” He promised some fun upcoming specials, which is what we viewers have come to expect from Briggs.

Since Joe Bob's the only reason why I signed up for Shudder, that's great to hear. The FB group and subreddit were freaking out a little while ago about some cancel culture stuff that might've prevented renewal, but I figured that was way overblown. Guess I'll reup for another year in October.

^Its good, but it may be disorientating for those familiar with the legend. Yes, the cry of “My Children” is prevalent as well TONS of imagery involving water, but in the end, it’s an original take on the tale. Well filmed, for sure.

There's a good amount of familiarity within other films in the Genre but there were a lot of great scares.

Looks like the grandfathered yearly $47.88 rate is being phased out for renewals after 8/23, bumping all up to $56.99. Still a great deal for my usage.

Yeah I got that email as well. My subscription does not expire until next May. So I'm good. Understandable they have to raise prices. Acquiring all these movies costs serious money.

I don't mind the price bump either. Going from paying $4.99 a month to $5.99 isn't bad, considering all the films they have.
Director Timo Tjahjanto announced today on Instagram that his film May The Devil Take You: Verse 2 was acquired by Shudder.
Shudder released the first film, which I absolutely loved. It was one of my favorite films of 2018.

RLJ Entertainment does seem committed to pushing most everything produced by SHUDDER out on physical media. They just put out the excellent Cursed Films' first season on Blu-ray.

Shudder's new movie Scare Me was fantastic. It takes a little while to get going, but it's so much fun. Horror fans should love it.

I just watched that Twilght Zone ep of Cursed Films.
The jury on that trial should be ashamed of themselves.
They said it was an accident an no one can be blamed for that.
That guy who was the production designer, man I almost cried listening to him talk about it.

I thought Haunt was okay. Since I had to get up early, I went to bed before Hack-O-Lantern. I'll catch it on Monday when it's available on demand.
The online consensus speculation based on Joe Bob's hints were Halloween 3 and the Evil Dead remake. When that didn't pan out, people seemed pissed. Jeez, get a grip and just enjoy some Joe Bob and Darcy, regardless of the movies presented.
Though I do wonder where the "druids" and "murderous zombies" were in Haunt.

Live on Instgram after the show, he said the people wearing cloaks are considered druids. He didn't say what the Zombies were, but I think one of the characters was dressed like one and there was a cover of Rob Zombie's "Dragula" that played during the credits. I'm assuming those were the two zombies.
