I've been collecting and redeeming Ultraviolet codes for several years now. I think most of us are aware that most of (maybe all of) these UV codes can be redeemed at several different sites. What I've only just begun to notice is that certain movies' UV codes will also unlock bonus features, but only when redeemed at certain sites (and usually NOT at the site you are instructed to redeem it). I wanted to list the few I've discovered and hope others will help with their experience.
I'm now looking through Vudu, Cinema Now and Flixster to see if anyone offers a movie with "Bonus Features". Redeeming on that site seems to be the key to unlocking the bonuses. Things are easiest on Cinema Now because they allow you to select the movie with bonus features (as opposed to just the movie), then enter the code -- if you have the code for the movie, it should then unlock both the movie and the bonuses.

Hunger Games - Catching Fire : Bonus features including 2+ hr documentary at Cinema Now
Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part 1 : Bonus Feature 2hr14min documentary plus 5 featurettes at Cinema Now
Night At The Museum - Secret of the Tomb : Eight bonus featurettes on Cinema Now
The Hobbit Battle of the Five Armies : Six featurettes (seem to be on the website only and in SD) - Redeem on VUDU
Perks of Being a Wallflower : One featurette (6 min) on VUDU
Penguins of Madagascar : Eight Featurettes running a total of 23 minutes of Cinema Now (and possibly VUDU as well)
____________________________________
I'm kicking myself because I see several recent UV codes I've redeemed elsewhere that might have unlocked bonus content on Cinema Now (Book of Life, How To Train Your Dragon 2 -- plus others like John Wick and Birdman). My advice is before redeeming a UV code, check in at least VUDU and Cinema NOw and if it mentions Bonus Features, try and redeem it there instead. If others have sucess with codes, please post here. Everyone likes free bonus features, right?

Mockingjay Pt 1, Catching Fire, Night at the Museum also have the extensive bonus features on Vudu.

The following titles on Vudu have bonus features:
Exodus: Gods and Kings
Into the Woods
Hobbit: Battle of the Cinco Armies
Interstellar
Penuins of Madagascar
Mockingjay Part 1

Well all those Disney/Marvel titles can't be redeemed directly from Vudu anyway AFAIK (though to be fair, I've never tried to redeem a Digital Copy Plus code directly on Vudu before since DMA already attaches to my Vudu account). Some of the others listed I think I've already redeemed on Vudu and didn't get bonus features (The Giver, The Judge, Fury, Equalizer) and I don't have any bonus features on my Vudu account with any of those.
I'll keep checking and posting here with success/failure reports on new UV codes I try.

The only extra Catching Fire has on Vudu is a featurette that's 3 minutes long. Not very extensive. At least that's all that shows up on mine. I've read the CinemaNow has a much longer one.Originally Posted by RichC2

There are a few WB UV codes that give bonuses on Flixster, though none come directly to mind.

Vudu has "Extras Plus" on a lot of Sony movies. Right now I think they're only viewable on the website. Hopefully they'll be available through TV apps sometime in the future.

Interesting, guess they're working out the kinks in their system still. The copy I received included: http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content...ire-featuretteOriginally Posted by trespoochies

And yeah, Extras+ is only on the website which is incredibly lame.

They can be, actually, and I was doing it before they setup the Link with DMA. I don't bother anymore.Originally Posted by Decker

Disney movies have special features on the DMA website/app. Into The Woods has about an hour of featurettes. 101 Dalmatians has over 2 hours worth of stuff.

Hey, you're right, a lot of my Disney stuff has bonus features accessible via the DMA app. I really never use that since it won't stream to the TV or the Roku and I'd rather just download the movie directly from iTunes to the iPad.

When you redeem the last two Hunger Games movies directly on Cinema Now, the feature-length extras show as items on your Cinema Now account(but not on other UV services) and are both streamable and downloadable with the Cinema Now app.Originally Posted by RichC2

Yeah, same with my Vudu redemption. The docs were standard Extras, not Extras+. Not sure I get the point of Web Browser only extras, it's like the beginning of Hulu all over again.Originally Posted by Decker

I've never gotten any special features for redeeming my UV code, even if it was a big two-disc SE, at least not as far as I know.
#15
They're available through web only. No apps as far as I know have them. I'm already sick of this exclusive shit with Vudu and CinemaNow. What other services are there? There's also Flixster, but that's all I know of that do exclusives.

I hardly ever redeem movie to CinemaNow. I thought I had more but as of today I only have 1 movie in my library. I do have a Cinemanow App on my Panny Plasma tv. At one time I thought I had a bunch of movie in my libary. Do these movies have a expiration date?
I buy majority of my used blu-rays from GoHastings. So it's a toss up if you'll get a UV Code. So far I have this amount of movies. I'm sure not as many as others.

UV - 181
Vudu - 179
Flixster - 146
CinemaNow - 172
DMA - 38

It seems that a lot of time with Vudu, there are Digitial Copies with Bonus Features on their site, but those bonuses are NOT unlocked with standard UV codes. I've had more success with Cinema Now.
I'll keep posting my actual results when I redeem stuff on those sites. I'd appreciate if other would do the same.

Has anyone redeemed the code for Penguins of Madagascar yet? It looks to have bonus editions at both Cinema Now and VUDU and I'm wondering where I should redeem it. I don't want to have to access web-based bonus materials through Vudu so unless I hear differently, I'm going with Cinema Now...
Edit : I went with Cinema Now. Redeemed on their site for the Bonus Feature edition and unlocked eight featurettes with 23 minutes of total content. Updated the original post accordingly

Okay, I did some more digging. Having bonus features available on Vudu means very little. They sell digital copies with Bonus features, but when you redeem UV codes, they give you the version without the bonus features. The only exception I've found is the Battle of the Five Armies, and that's browser-only features.
Cinema Now, on the other hand does redeem the standard UV code for certain movies with Bonus Features available through any Cinema Now application.
Today I discovered that Edge of Tomorrow includes several Bonus features. That got me thinking how could I find out which other ones redeem this way. Then it hit me -- search the Redeem option for the word Bonus
Here's a possibly partial, possibly complete list :
Edge of Tomorrow
300: Rise of an Empire (plus bonus features)
Addicted (Plus Bonus Features)
Birdman (Plus Bonus Features)
Blended (plus bonus features)
Book of Life (Plus Bonus Features)
Boyhood (plus bonus feature)
Calvary (Plus Bonus Edition)
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Plus Bonus Features)

Yeah, but if you have already redeemed them, you're screwed - right? I usually redeem through Flixster and the movie will pop up on Vudu for me. That's what I hate about digital codes, you can't switch from one service like Vudu to Cinema Now.

Sure you can. You can redeem almost any code at one of several sites. I usually redeem through Flixster and the movie will pop up on Vudu for me. That's what I hate about digital codes, you can't switch from one service like Vudu to Cinema Now.
To redeem a UV Code at VUDU click here
To redeem at Cinema Now click here
All those sites are linked together by your Ultraviolet account. Redeem it at Vudu, Flixster or Cinema Now and you'll have the same movie in HD Digital at the others as well. As I mentioned though, if you get the Bonus material at Cinema Now, then the Bonus Features can only be watched using a Cinema Now application. The movie can still be watched through any UV Streaming service.

I kind of wish that since the BD I bought has bonus features, the UV version in Vudu would too, but I'm sure there are all kinds of legal issues.
