Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - News & Hot Deals

Once they're in your account they stay there, unless you reconnect future ones won't get shared.

Gotcha.

Now I just got a reconnect message directly from DMA so I guess I have to do it.

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - News & Hot Deals

Here's a (sneaky) question... we can log in to DMA on - essentially - anybody's phone app. We can connect our Vudu & Google accounts and get DMA copies to switch from Disney to Other. And if we had had films in Other, they'd fly into DMA.

You get DMR points for purchases made via DMA.... but do the films transfer from Other give points?

More to the point, if I log into DMA on someone else's phone and they hook THEIR Google account up to it, transfer their films into DMA and then unhook Google, after 6 months I can hook up my Google account and get their few films to hop across to me...? And if I do DMR/digital redemptions in the time between hooking and unhooking accounts, HE gets them, but I'll get them in six months...?

Obviously it's a lengthy wait and a hassle, but is this a loophole or just a potential reward for patience?! Becaus esurely most people could live with "just" DMA (and Vudu, iTunes, Amazon) for the benefit of getting free films in 6 months. It'd only (temporarily) remove one viewing option, would it not?

(Also - the 180 days wait: is it from first hooking up an account, or from UNhooking one..?)

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - News & Hot Deals

There is a lengthy and complicated science behind switching DMA accounts, probably best answered on other forums. Check the Google groups for more information.

Mulan - $14.99
Mulan II - $14.99
Hercules - $12.99

Thanks, I'll take Atlantis for that price. I have all the others except for Atlantis II which I'm not interested in.

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - News & Hot Deals

The iTunes Extras on Beauty & The Beast is awesome. There's 6 versions of the film:

Original Theatrical Edition
Special Extended Edition
Special Extended Edition with Audio Commentary (Directors, Producer & Composer)
Sing-Along Edition
Sing-Along Edition (French)
Work-in-Progress Edition

And it looks like a few hours worth of featurettes, deleted/alternate scenes, music videos, etc.

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - News & Hot Deals

Bought Jungle Book, and was able to get UV copy. It's now available in my Vudu. However, it seems I am unable to share it. Does anyone have issues with sharing Disney movies? I sent a message to UV and was told Disney is not compatible with UV. Which is really very strange for me.

You didn't get a UV copy with a Blu Ray. You got a DMA copy, compatible with VUDU, but not with any other UV distributor. Disney does not participate with Ultraviolet, but having DMA on VUDU is quite literally the next best thing.

Does DMA have an option to share movies with friends, similar to UV?

No. DMA doesn't having a sharing option.

I had my brother give me the activation code from the DMA app on his Roku, and I authorized his device on my account. So his family can watch my DMA movies on their Roku, but they don't have access to my account.

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - News & Hot Deals

DMA can link a half dozen different accounts though, so you can register yourself with Vudu, your brother with Amazon, a friend with Google Play, another with iTunes, and it should operate the same as sharing.

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - News & Hot Deals

These Disney movies are $12.99 for Halloween. You can buy them at Vudu, iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Nightmare Before Christmas
Frankenweenie
Haunted Mansion
Spookie Buddies

Hocus Pocus is $8.99 at Amazon Video. It's $9.99 at other services.

There's a rumor that Hocus Pocus will be part of a Daily $6.66 HDX Sale at Vudu on Oct 26th. So you might want to wait for that.

All these movies are DMA-compatible so they'll transfer to Vudu, iTunes, Amazon, Google, etc. And you'll get 150 DMR points.

Re: Disney Movies Anywhere - News & Hot Deals

I got a message that I needed to reconnect my Amazon and Microsoft accounts with DMA, but the latter kept failing. I guess this is why. So much for using Xbox credits and watching on Vudu!

Quote:
Disney has recently sent out emails to its Movies Anywhere users telling them that the service no longer supports Microsoft's Movies and TV store. The Movies Anywhere app gives you a way to stream all the Disney movies you've purchased, so long as you bought them from partner outlets like Amazon and iTunes. And by "Disney movies," we're not only talking about the House of Mouse's princess flicks -- they also include Pixar and Marvel films. Unfortunately, if you enjoy having access to all your Disney flicks in one place, you'll need to skip Microsoft when deciding on the store to buy from.

Here's a sample email from the company, though you might have already read it if you've synced your Microsoft account with the service.

Disney didn't give a reason for dropping Microsoft as a partner. As you can see though, while you can't access your future purchases on the app anymore, you can still stream all your previous ones. Considering you've got several other choices, Microsoft's exit probably won't have a huge effect on how you use Disney's Movies Anywhere service. You know what might change your Movies Anywhere habit, though? The House of Mouse's upcoming streaming service. Disney will pull its titles, including Marvel and Star Wars films, from other services like Netflix to put them all in its own streaming platform slated to launch in 2019.
