We always have plenty to watch on Paramount+ and will gladly renew next year.

The Showtime linear network (for those here who still have cable or satellite) will officially be re-branded "Paramount + with Showtime" on January 8th

There's rumors about Paramount being sold to Skydance https://www.marketwatch.com/story/sh...dance-558d6b3a

From what I can tell, Skydance is doing well financially. They've sold multiple shows and movies to Netflix and Apple. And Top Gun Maverick was a smash.

It sounds like Skydance just wants Paramount's IP and movie studio. They would most likely sell the tv assests.

How many people still watch cable movie channels? Sure they were pretty great in the 70s but I canít imagine making sure to watch something at the day and time it comes on when thereís so many other options that work better with my schedule.

DVRs have been around for over 20 years, the VCR over 30.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

I can't think of the last time I watched a movie on a premium linear channel live. The VOD and SVOD culture basically killed that for most people.

If I'm flipping the channels and happen to see something in progress that I know and have seen, then maybe I'll watch in progress.

I hope this means you can watch Tulsa King on Showtime or whatever it is called next year and not subscribe to Paramount + or it is free like HBO Max is if you have a HBO subscription.

Doesn't sound like it. Some providers have different agreements. If you pay for the linear network, you only get a limited selection of Paramount + originals. Paramount + with Showtime streaming with the full library Paramount + originals is entirely separate.

According to a report from Variety, some subscribers to Showtime proper won't have access to the Paramount+ With Showtime streaming. The only way these subscribers would be able to access the original shows and back catalogs of the combined networks, like the entirety of Star Trek, Dexter, Super Pumped, etc., would be through authenticated streaming apps from some large providers Paramount has agreements with.

Yes, I know, most in this forum are sick and tired of paying for so many streaming services.

The cost for Showtime the channel without any kinds of deals has to be about as much as adding Paramount + standalone, right?

Showtime linear is a $10/mo add-on through Spectrum, my cable provider. Yes, almost as much as Paramount+ with Showtime ($11.99/mo)

Preliminary talks with WB to merge or be purchased. Oh boy. If this happens, this service is going to be $50/month

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

In case you missed the news, Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning is now up on Paramount +

There is a 20 minute behind the scenes feature in the extras. It's basically all the short featurettes on the digital and disc edited together.

Darn, I thought Wolf Pack was an enjoyable series. Season two looked like it was going interesting places.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

I already had a Paramount+ account.

Yearly Showtime just renewed in December.

Is there an easy way to merge them?

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

Pretty easy to get half price. My sub was going to run out this week. Just clicked cancel and they gave me half off for the year. Not a bad deal to get P+ and Showtime for the year for $65.00.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

My Paramount + subscription through Sportsline was expiring next month. I hit cancel so I wouldn't forget, but they cancel your account immediately. I was actually under a short extension from trying to cancel months ago.

So I went and looked for another deal. Got another year for $35 and yes it includes Showtime. I used the code EQUINOX23 on Sportsline and got the discount. Linked the Sportsline account to a previously inactive Paramount + email and it worked.

I'm set for another year. If you check Slickdeals, this deal still works for everyone who tried it.

DJ,
Did your deal include commercials or no commercials?
