It doesn't actually say that existing subscribers (on annual plans, for example) get Showtime without paying extra.
"As part of the name change, you now have access to Showtime programming on Paramount+ in addition to all the benefits already available to Premium plan subscribers". Price increase will happen at the time of my next renewal. |

As of today, the Paramount+ Premium plan is now called Paramount+ with SHOWTIME®, and costs $119.99/year. As part of the name change, you now have access to SHOWTIME programming on Paramount+ (commercial free!), in addition to all the benefits already available to Premium plan subscribers. The new price will apply to current subscribers starting with your first subscription renewal on or after July 27, 2023.No further action is required on your part if you wish to keep your Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan. The payment method tied to your account will be charged the new price unless you cancel before your next renewal date on or after July 27, 2023. |
Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
I thought for sure the changes today adding Showtime would finally be what kicked me off... but nope. I had that old $9.99 Apple TV bundle of Paramount+ and Showtime. When they did away with the bundle discount back in September I cancelled thru Apple and was going to resubscribe directly with Paramount+. It never got updated between them and without using a different email I can't subscribe directly with Paramount+. Apple thinks I cancelled and Paramount thinks I'm billed thru Apple. I never got the Showtime content as it said it combo wasn't available thru Apple Channels.
Today I have the full Paramount+/Showtime package and Paramount+ still thinks Apple is billing me. |
Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
Wow, I'm currently subscribed through Sportsline.com through August and all the Showtime content was unlocked for me today. Totally not expected.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
I just checked Sportsline and it was suppose to renew July 31st, but looks like it got extended to October 31st. -eek- Now sure why they gave me a 3 month extension, but okay.

Blood and Treasure was also among the purged titles. I never finished the 2nd and final season. The long delay after COVID and it being dumped to Paramount + with no chance of renewal kind of killed my interest. |
Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
Paramount Plus has to be the most overrated streaming service.

Add Hulu to that but that is only because I have the version with ads. It makes me hate watching anything on it, but I get it free so whatever. It works in a pinch. |

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
Yeah I watch a lot of Paramount +. ^^ Like him, I prefer to watch CBS shows on there as opposed to the DVR.
and I have watched most of the P+ originals that I'm interested in, including the Taylor Sheridan shows. |
Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
The movie collection is a nice complement to the HBO app too.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
Since I just started Walmart+, one of the benefits is free sub to Paramount+
|
Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
I received the email also stating our $99/yr is going to $119/yr and that all Showtime content is included. If I go to my account in the website it states Paramount+ Showtime, rate $99 renewing Feb next year. Only difference from days ago is the "+Showtime". So now we'll see in Feb if it is actually $99 or $119.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
Has it been stated what happens if you subscribe to Showtime (to be rebranded) through your cable subscription? Will you have access to content like you currently do through Showtime Anytime?

I've been binging Shameless over the last 3 months...I'm halfway through season 10. Of course, earlier today the entire series just disappeared from Paramount Plus. I didn't know they were going to pull it.
Fortunately (or rather unfortunately for me based on how the last season or so have felt) I found it on Netflix, so I can still watch the last 1.5 seasons.

This one is rather surprising because this was easily their most watched Series besides Dexter.
It's in the Classic Showtime tab. |
Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service

As far as I can tell, the Showtime linear channel service will be rebranded "Paramount+ with Showtime" at a later date this year, yet to be announced. In the meantime Showtime linear (and its Showtime Anytime streaming app) should continue as normal. The Hulu add-on Showtime service is technically Showtime linear, so for you, lacubs, there should be no change at this time. For anyone that has Showtime through Prime Video Channels, Apple TV Channels, or YouTube TV, that is also Showtime linear.

Re: Paramount+ with Showtime - ViacomCBS streaming service
I guess they pulled the recently-cancelled American Gigolo series from the service already. It wasn't good, but it wasn't terrible and shouldn't have been disappeared already.

Never got around to it. Bummer since it was in my queue. |
