Sweet. I have a $25 gift card so I may bite. I have been floating between freebie codes but I bet those dry up real quick.
My freebie is up near end of February so this is great timing.

I’m paying $10 a month right now, I think I will sign up for that yearly discount plan.

I'd want to see what's in their library (beyond the stuff that's currently on CBS All Access), first.

I'll probably bite on that deal so I can watch Picard and catch up on Discovery.

My subscription renewal date was tomorrow so I went ahead and cancelled. We'll see if they let me sign up at the new rate. Otherwise I'll have to create a new account.

Will they have as many "free month" codes when they become Paramount+?

re: Paramount+ (formerly CBS All-Access) - ViacomCBS streaming service - rebrand 3/4/21
I was wondering that too. I’ve never paid for this service because they always have free months. That is why I would not pay for a year in advance. Not something I use often and it’s only for one show at a time usually.

As of recently (noticed today), some of their original content is now 4K HDR on Roku 4800 (2020). Stand, Twilight Zone, Good Fight, etc. Some titles are HD 1080p like ST Discovery, ST Picard.
Seems promising.

Do they even have anything notable coming up after The Stand ends?

Translation: They're pushing yearly subscriptions because people are only signing up to watch Star Trek shows and then canceling. And they probably won't have any new Star Trek content until next year.

As far as original shows goes, Coyote is currently out, but that was a pick up from Paramount network.
The Man who fell to earth was greenlit and is supposed to come out this year, but I've heard no news on casting or even if they're filming. Things could have slowed down due to COVID. I doubt that Star Trek Strange New Worlds comes out this year. I think that's more likely early 2022. The second season of Picard doesn't start filming until next month. The soonest that can come out is Fall.

The code FOOTBALL just worked for me as an existing subscriber. Also saw posted that NFLONCBS or KICKOFF may work as well.

I checked my CBS account last night and as of right now, you cannot switch to this 50% off promo. It only allows you to get the $99 plan for a year.
I wonder if this is only for new subscribers. I sent CBS All-Access a note last night on their Help Twitter to ask about this.

Yeah won't let me get promo price either. That football code worked for me but then it didn't. Showed me as a full month free but no email confirmation or anything. Next time I logged into my account it was gone.

Get $9 cash back at TopCashBack

The 50% promo worked for me. I'm a previous subscriber, but it's been a year since my last signup.

There is not and that is 1 of my bigger complaints about this service.
The other is all sound defaults to lowest quality and there is no preference setting to always have highest quality sound.
The only way to get better sound is to change it right as the program begins. Wouldn't be as big of an issue if the program didn't have to reload a new stream.
On the Roku 4800x, it is easier to pause the program right as it begins, change the sound, then unpause.
It also does not remember your setting when it moves to next episode in a series. So you have to do it on every episode.

Weirdly the ST shows were just fine.

Airplay always plays in Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 automatically, you can’t even access the 2-channel track through it. I didn’t think their regular app even supported 5.1 til I played around with it. My parents have been watching everything in 2-channel with no idea that a 5.1 track exists.
