Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

I have the Hulu no-ad, Live TV, Disney+ no-ad, ESPN+ with ads plan and it's going up to 89.99.

The plans with Live TV seem to be the ones getting the highest increase - it's like $7 - $8 more I think.

Same. I would assume this bundle will go away soon. Although if it doesn't, I may never switch my Verizon plan.

Can you advise how you got the ad-free upgrade with the Verizon package? I have the same thing through Verizon but tried every way possible to upgrade Hulu to the no-ad version and could never get it done. I was even told by a Verizon rep one time that there was no way to upgrade it to the ad-free and still keep the included Verizon bundle.

I would watch Hulu more often if I could dump the ads.

@Verizon rep... as I am about to quote Verizon's own site.

Sure... I would just make sure you will be able to re-enroll in the Disney bundle before following the steps. Plans have changed recently.

https://www.verizon.com/support/disney-bundle-faqs/

Can I upgrade Hulu (With Ads) in my Disney Bundle to Hulu (No Ads)?

If you had the Disney Bundle through Hulu or have already subscribed to Hulu (with Ads) and used the same email address you use for Hulu for the Disney Bundle, you can sign up for Hulu services & perks at any time through hulu.com/account or via Hulu Customer Service. Your Hulu bill will be credited for the Disney Bundle or Hulu subscription, depending on the service to which you previously subscribed.

If you purchased the Disney Bundle through Disney or have already taken the Disney Bundle included in your plan, follow these steps to add Hulu (With Ads) to your bundle:
  • Cancel the Disney Bundle:
    1. Go to Services & perks in My Verizon
    2. Scroll to Manage My Services & perks
    3. Click Cancel Manage in the Disney+ tile

Note: If you have the Disney Bundle included in your plan you will be able to re-enroll in the bundle at a later step in this process. If you have the Disney+ Premium (No Ads) promotion you will not be able to re-enroll and receive the rest of your 6-months free.
  • Sign up for Hulu (With Ads):
    1. Visit Hulu's sign-up page
    2. Select sign up now
    3. Create your account and purchase your subscription (use the same email address you are using for your Disney Bundle through Verizon)
  • Re-enroll in the Disney Bundle included in your plan:
    1. Go to Services & perks in My Verizon
    2. Click View all Services
    3. Click Disney Bundle
    4. Choose Get it now and follow the prompts.
    5. Sign in to your account and activate the Hulu subscription.
That's what I did from the get go without activating the bundle first. I pay $5 a month for the Hulu ad-free upgrade.

It seems as if I've experienced an increase in offers from Verizon lately, encouraging me to add lines or to "upgrade" to their new set of plans being offered--which obviously don't include this bundle, or at a cost if they do. That seems to be their strategy currently and I'm not taking the bait.

What will happen is they just keep raising the cost of these legacy plans until it doesn't make any sense to keep them anymore.

Yes... I'm holding on to my current plan (last year's 5G Get More) as long as I can. Not only do I get the Disney Bundle included but also Apple Music and Arcade.

They did that last month with one of my lines on the last year's entry 5G Start. It was going to go up $3. I switched only that line to this year's offering and instead it went down $3 for the same plan features.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Time to panic watch Ally McBeal and Hill Street Blues Licenses for some older FOX shows are expiring and won't be renewed. If I had to guess, the viewership for these shows are probably pretty low to non-existent. I mean who is really streaming any of these?

I just binged Sirens, great albeit short lived series. ... which they should bring back and pair with Animal Control (same creator)

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Hulu Live on Apple TV - For one (ish) glorious week we finally had a dedicated Go to Guide button after you press Up on the remote. Sadly it was short lived. As of a coupe days ago it's back to having to click on the lightning bolt first, the press Guide in the options with Jump to Live.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Can anyone explain why Hulu doesn't offer an ad-free, pay annually subscription plan? Every other streaming service does (that I'm aware of).

Just renewed and completely taken by surprise. Hulu's ad breaks are by far the longest as well.
