Good price... heads up that model is WiFi only... no ethernet port.

I want to get one to try it out, but I don't really need one. My Roku Ultra LT and Roku Streaming Stick 4k are still working fine.

Even though I have Apple TV+ for free through T-Mobile, every time I open it on my browser it wants me to pick a $9.99/month plan or a $99/annual plan. Um, no. I just click away amd move on. It's okay, but I'm concerned someone in my family will click it.

? Are you not signing into whatever your tmobile account is linked to or something?

Having one of everything, I’d say the Apple TV is the 2nd-most used streaming device. I mainly use it for Apple Music, and Airplay from my phone or iPad. The NVidia Shield with Kodi does pretty much everything else I need, especially with SmartTube (ad-free YouTube.)

I'm signed in, but it keeps happening. That said, I'd been signed out for a long time. I dunno. It's weird.

Got this email today from Netflix. What's up with this?

Hi Decker,

You’re receiving this email because you’ve used Apple TV (2nd generation) and/or Apple TV (3rd generation) with Netflix in the past. Unfortunately, we’re sunsetting support for these devices on Jul 31, 2024. We know this can be frustrating, but we’re doing this to ensure you maintain the best possible Netflix viewing experience. You can still enjoy Netflix with our latest features on thousands of TVs, phones, tablets, and computers, including all newer models of Apple TV, like Apple TV 4K. We're here to help if you need it. Visit the Help Center for more info or contact us. The Netflix team

In other words,

Decker, please upgrade to an Apple TV 4K to continue to stream our content.

Thanks
Your Friends at Netflix :D

The 2nd and 3rd gen devices are 13 and 11 years old now. They don’t even run tvOS. The surprise is they supported them this long.

Oh, then that’s not the version I own any more I guess. Weird, I don’t remember owning a previous version.

Did you ever password-share your Netflix account?

Because their business model tries to get everyone in the Apple Ecosystem, their UI is pretty awful for PC and, it's a lot of hoop jumping for Android Users. They have great shows, only matched in ratio of good series by maybe FX or HBO but they have closed themselves off to half the potential customer base by not making Apple TV more accesible.

Isn't this the thread for the Apple TV hardware box? There's a different thread for Apple TV+ streaming service.

Apple TVs are on sale for $100 at Costco. The 128GB is out of stock, but check your local store if you feel like braving the crowds to see if they have any in stock.

Did anyone find a Apple TV at a Costco? They're sold out online. The 128GB sold out quickly. I was hoping it would come back in stock, but it didn't and the 64 GB just sold out online too. I'm going to look tonight after work. I really wanted the 128GB for $100. That's $50 off...

You can potentially save yourself a trip by calling the warehouse and asking them to check the stock on-hand. They can even check stock levels at nearby warehouses too.

You can check Costco stock in their app also (the Warehouse tab at the bottom). Seems to be pretty accurate when I've used it.

I'm planning on going anyway to stock up on a few things. I'm hoping they might have one there.

It was apparently an online only deal. There weren't any Apple TVs at my local Costco. It stinks that I missed out on it.

tvOS 18.2 was released today. Main updates are the improved projector support (including 21x9 aspect ratio) and Snoopy screensaver.
