Roku.

Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
Which version of the Roku? I'm on a Roku 3 and Hulu is very obviously HD.

Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
Unless you want to check out films in the Criterion Collection catalog or specifically want to watch current show Hulu seems like a waste.

Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
Hulu is for cable cutters mostly, it's a subscription version of On Demand.. I use them a lot though, so I can't complain.

Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
Roku XM? I think its the roku 2 that was previously $100 before the most recent one came out.
Like I mentioned, NFS and Amazon HD looks great, Hulu+ not so much. |
Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
If they pay me $38.99, I'll reactivate Hulu Plus ;)

Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
lol goddamn when did Hulu non-plus up their ad count so high? On Plus it's still 3 per commercial break, I just tried last nights Community on non-plus and it was 5 ads per break.

Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
Even on plus it can be unbearable. I guess it depends on the show? Arrow has two ads each time but Dancing with the Stars has four!

I agree. There are two things I hate about Hulu.
First, only half their library is available for streaming on TV. It's frustrating to browse their website for good stuff, and find out I can't watch it on my TV. And second are the commercials. You can't skip or FF through them. And they play the same ones over and over again. It's too bad they don't offer a Premium membership. I'd pay 2-3 times the current rate if I could watch their entire catalog without commercials. But in it's current state, I don't subscribe. |

It's a rights issue with the rights holder. Some of these companies are simply idiotic, WB appears to be a big offender.

I've heard that WB compresses the hell out of their DCPs too, apparently there's some sort of weird management at the top of the tree there, they make all kinds of bizarre choices.

I assume it's the same person that figured Warner Archives would be more successful than licensing their content out?

Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
Does Hulu Plus have timeouts so you can't watch shows consectively?

Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
It does occasionally check in with "Are you still watching?" after about 4 episodes, not unlike Netflix.

Re: Netflix vs. Hulu Plus vs. Amazon Prime
I'm new to Hulu plus and can't figure it out. With netflix I pick out a series I wan't to watch and it puts it in my watch list. When I click on it it brings up all the seasons in order and keeps track where I am.
With Hulu, sometimes it gives me a button to add to my queue, other times there is just an add to favorites button? Then when I click on a series in my queue instead of bring up the entire series for me it will bring a season or 2 sometimes just an episode or 2? Am I doing something wrong? Why can't they keep it simple like Netfix and amazon? |

I use Netflix for everything else. |
