The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Lately I've stumbled onto a few new releases that were available to rent (in HD) for a bargain price, "The Villainess" for 1.99, "Better Watch Out" for 99 cents, and tonight "Baywatch" for 99 cents. Now I found these by just fishing around and I don't know any details. Is there a quick and easy way to find out which rental titles are being offered at bargain prices on Amazon?

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
I found a way to search based on price. If you set the price to $0.99, it'll show the cheap rentals, because the rental price is the lowest.
This link may work:

Or, for $1.99 rentals as well:

I just wanted to say the Prime streaming app on Apple Tv runs a hundred times better than the PS3 one did. I'm glad that they finally got it on there.

According to CordcutterNews.com ,CBS All-Access is now available on Amazon Prime. The limited commercial version will be available at a later time.
As long as everything is available there compared to the CBS All-Access app-I might switch but then I would probably drop Shutter and Scream Box.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Another reason I might switch is because I watch it mostly on an older Roku device that is very slow when it deals with the CBS All Access app. Takes a few minutes and it's very clumsy navigating the screen's.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
This is the same price as directly with CBS All Access yet a smaller trial time (3 days vs CBS's 7 days - and at times they've offered 30)
Other than app speed, etc what is the advantage of doing this through Amazon?

Aren't you only allowed one stream with Hulu so does that mean you can't watch HBO on another stream if you are already watching Hulu.
I know that I dropped Full Moon because they only allowed one stream while Amazon offered more streams.

When you do subscribe to premium content on Amazon channels, you can just flip to what you want to watch there relatively easy on the Prime video app.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
I think this is the more expensive version that has no commercials (hence the $9.99 charge afterwards). I believe 3 days is the normal trial for that.

The caveat being that you need to already have an Amazon Prime subscription, of course. So if you're already a prime member and like their ecosystem, why not? If you're not, then stick with standalone.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
Do you need to have Prime in order to purchase a channel subscription? I was under the impression that you didn't. (At least, I think I've seen the trial offers for channels when I didn't have prime, and there are also some things that are both available through Prime or through some other Channel - which would be weird, since if you already had prime, you wouldn't need the separate channel)

Amazon is closing down their Anime Strike premium channel. All the shows have been moved over to the regular Amazon Prime service.
They're also closing the Bollywood premium channel Heera. That content will also be available through Amazon Prime.

Good thing I just switched CBS All-Access over to Amazon Prime. The subscription would have been charged tomorrow. While I signed up at Amazon Prime ,I also cancelled Acorn TV,Scream Box and Shudder. Keeping Fandor along with Full Moon.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread
I had planned an up-all-night current season of Hawaii Five-O marathon and it stopped working after 4 episodes. Since it was the middle of the night ,I wasn't going to mess with it. Typical CBS All-Access.
I would like to see the list of the 10,000 episodes that CBS All-Access carries. I think that is a highly inflated number.

Looks like the first season of the 80's series Robin of Sherwood got added to Prime (or is available to purchase for $5). Yes please!
Now to hope that the other two seasons get added.
