Looks like it was a glitch and they fixed it fast. It’s $4.99 now.

It was a typo from my end - I forgot to add the $4 before I posted. I saw it said .99. My mistake. I had already fixed the mistake, though. You're quick on the draw, G-Unit.

Also, I am hesitant to "own" digital streaming rights that are limited to one service. I lost a bit when CinemaNOW disappeared. I have some stuff that was higher res on FlixsterVideo that I can't seem to convince VUDU to upgrade their license. I have concerns about all providers longevity. Even UV seems to be on it's last days.

I stick with VUDU since they are owned by Wal-Mart. That's a lot of capital and muscle behind VUDU.

And now that i've said that, they will sell tomorrow

I never thought Walmart would shutdown their MP3 store either. Thankfully I downloaded my purchases before it shut down.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Also never thought I'd see the day that Amazon would close down their Music Storage service. This the one where users could upload up to 250 songs for free or you could pay a fee (I think Monthly) to upload up to 250,000 songs.

As of April 29, 2018 this service shuts down. They no longer allow uploads. If you have music there, you have to select "Keep My Songs" in your music settings by April 29, 2018 or they will delete your uploaded library.

Keep in mind this is not Prime Music nor Music Unlimited nor for Amazon purchased songs.

So yes I don't fully trust the Cloud for longevity no matter how big the provider or company.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I see Trevor's point, and I already own ST TOS on DVD and BD and have access to streaming services, but that's still a great price, and I do most of my watching on Vudu these days.

Do you say that specifically because this is a TV deal that doesn't transfer to other services via MA? That concern is valid.

Yeah, I have relative confidence in Walmart, Amazon, and Apple, but as b2net says, that's no guarantee, and I would've had confidence in Target as well.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

That's an incredible price on TOS. One thing to point out, I believe this version has CGI special effects (rather than the original special effects) if it matters to anyone.

If it was UV or MA, I'd be more tempted.

And I wouldn't have thought Target Ticket would have gone down or CinemaNOW (once owned by Best Buy) for that matter.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Just an FYI: The Black Cat in the sale is the 30s version (with Karloff and Lugosi), not the 40s version (with Rathbone). The trailer and reviews are for the right version, while the artwork and cast listed are for the wrong version.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I picked up Planet Earth 1 and Life in the BBC Mix and Match $9.99 sale. They also have Planet Earth 2 and Blue Planet 2 for $10-11, which is tempting though don't be fooled by the $7-10 SD prices that are displayed by default.

Of course I have three of them on physical disc already, but it's nice to have the digital convenience.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

FWIW, UHD Copies of the 1st Hunger Games and the Last Hunger Games finally showed up for me on VUDU either yesterday or the day before. The second one was already available, and the third one would have shown up too but that was the one I could never get the UHD code for so I settled for HDX.

Canadian iTunes codes require a Canadian iTunes account (I thought).

Either that or redemptions haven’t been activated until actual disc release.

it shouldn't affect. there are work arounds, which i did and it seems like it redeems, but nothing will play or load in iTunes. i just get the Black Panther page and when i hit HD it gives me error message saying cannot connect to store...

I assume you got your code from UVdigitalnow? I followed the instructions, and it redeemed correctly for me. It sounds more like you're having a problem with iTurnes, if you can't connect to the itunes store.

I bought one too, followed the instructions, and it worked fine for me. I agree that this seems to be a problem with iTunes. Have you tried using an iPad or iPhone?

Did the movie transfer to your Movies Anywhere account? If not, then you probably didn't redeem it correctly.
