Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Shoot, so first order only? I should have read it instead of ignoring. Then I messed up since I ordered one just to be sure I get the freebie on the first disc.

I know it's my opinion, but they are already having the same issues as before Mobile. Discs (that should) recognizing, HD as SD, SD as HD, rampant thievery (instead of Free2D, now any idiot can just scan upcs off a website), almost no support for boxsets, etc. Not that pirating wouldn't exist, but I bet if they make a real attempt to fix some of the real issues, people with their own discs that they purchased wouldn't be forced to visit some random website just so the stupid program would recognize their DVD/Blu-ray and numbers for "pirating" would be way down. That's my two cents anyway.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Yesterday there was a widespread problem with Ultraviolet connecting to the streaming services. A lot of people noticed movies missing from their collection. Apparently, it's been fixed. But you may need to relink your UV account at Vudu.
I had to do that. I was missing 100+ movies on Vudu that I had bought at other UV services or redeemed at Flixster. And my brother's family who just leech on my UV library couldn't access any movies.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
I unlinked all of my services from UV and went to re-link them. After much work, I was able to re-link all but Sony (another story for another thread maybe).
While Paramount was locking up and not re-linking, I went to VUDU to see if my Paramount ones were there and they were. When I opened NCIS New Orleans, it showed purchase options. Thinking this an error as it was UV from Paramount, I clicked it. The total to purchase was $0 so I figured it was due to my UV version.
Well, I feel like an idiot. It was because of Groupon Certificates I still had on the account. Basically I dropped $19.99 on something I already have per UV. Ugh. Still waiting on Customer Service to get back with me.
And to top it off, we didn't really like the show... and if we don't get that purchase reversed, we've in essence paid for it twice..

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
There's some great MGM titles in this month's $6.99 HDX Sale. They aren't available for D2D.
I grabbed:
The Sandlot
Kalifornia
Lord of Illusions
The Night of the Hunter
Once Upon a Crime
Romeo is Bleeding
Mr Mom

The theatrical version of Thief is also included in that deal, actually tempted on that since the only available DVDs and Blu-Rays are of the director's cut which I have already on laserdisc. Going to search for an import Blu-Ray first though, I know it was out as a limited edition in the UK but I missed the boat on that. Really don't want to pay more than $5 for a 'digital' movie but it's hard to find this version in any sort of high quality.

Ahhh, but the true deals this week is a crap load of the Well Go titles dropping to $2.99 in HDX. Donnie Yen, Jet Li, a little Tony Jaa, etc. Here is the full list of titles that I saw:
Badges of Fury
Brotherhood of Blades
The Guillotines
Iceman
Kill Zone 2
Kung Fu Killer (personal recommendation)
The Man From Nowhere (personal recommendation)
Once Upon a Time in Shanghai
Police Story: Lockdown (personal recommendation)
Rise of the Legend
Saving General Yang
Special ID
Vengeance of an Assassin
War of the Arrows
Wolf Warrior
Wrath of Vajra, The
And then the whole Ip Man Trilogy for only $7.99 Too bad, I already bought it at $10. I'm trying to restrain myself from the above list, but I'll probably ending up buying 3-4 of them.
EDIT: And for T-Mobile users, VUDU $5 credit was back for me this week (just when I got used to using FandangoNow credits for TV Show episodes). Customers, check your phones

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
anybody own The Boondock Saints in their Vudu library and care to do an experiment for me?
vudu doesn't seem to find it in my search, even tho I have it in my library and it is listed if I change my sort to A-Z, and if I google "vudu boondock saints" I can click on the link and it will take me to the movie and allow me to watch it.
Weird and annoying.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
You can still search for them using the filters, just no searching by name. And yeah, it kind of is.
(I mean, I can understand it not being searchable for people who don't own it, but it's annoying you can't if you do own it)

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
It's stupid. I don't know why Vudu hasn't come up with a better system. People have been complaining about it for years in the Vudu Forums. But they haven't done anything about it.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
While it is a deficiency, I actually prefer Vudu's overall system compared to the others I've seen - the ability to filter and sort movies is very helpful when you have over a thousand movies.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Haven't posted here in a while because I was deployed with the Marines a few years ago and have been sick in the past 17 months, so I hope this is the right place. Recently, Sloan Kettering has been getting new blu-rays donated to them and since I have always enjoyed this place, I figured I would share the digital codes with the first person who sees them. These are the movie I got today.
Rouge One- PNXPTULEE5X
Silence - PT4LWAXR4P7E
Clown - ABCWYXEWBXAE5J07
If you are the one who gets the codes, please let people know so they aren't wasting their time entering codes that won't work. I will post more if I get more blu-rays from Sloan Kettering. Enjoy.
