Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I'm happy with the free weekly $5.50 credit I get from the T-Mobile app.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

So if I invite a friend to share my uv library, can they access the movies via Vudu app on a smart tv like I do?

I've tried to share my library with my mom, my dad and the in-laws and have had zero success with all of them. And the Vudu people were of no help either. I don't really believe you can actually do it without sharing your Vudu account, no matter what they claim to the contrary.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I share my UV library with my brother. But I did it through the UV website. I forget the steps, but I basically created another User on my account and gave him Standard permission. Then he connected his Vudu account to that UV account.

Anyways, it works fine for him. He has access to all my UV movies and shows.

Yeah, the customer service was horrible. They told me to contact ultraviolet. Ultraviolet told me to contact Vudu!

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Wonder why. Reason I started building my Vudu is to share with siblings, and sending invite has always worked. One is out of the country and had no issues with access. We've noticed a bug though. Sometimes updated movies won't readily appear in their phone or iPad app or tv app. Fix is to have them access their Vudu through web, and refresh. Once available there, it eventually shows up in apps.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I share my movies with my brother, but I had to set a separate account since I couldn't access my movies along with my brother's. So now I use my bluray player for my vudu and my ps4 for my brother's account.

FREE - Building Star Trek (Smithsonian Channel)

The new Smithsonian Channel documentary, Building Star Trek (93 mins) is available FREE on Vudu.

When "Star Trek" first aired in 1966, it expanded the viewers' imaginations about what was possible in their lifetimes. Today, many of the space-age technologies displayed on the show, like space shuttles, cell phones, and desktop computers, have already gone from science fiction to science fact. Other innovations, like warp drive, teleportation, and medical tricorders are actively in development. Join us as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of "Star Trek" - a show that continues to inform, enrich, and inspire.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

Masters of Horror sale is up, there are some good ones in there.

Thinking of snagging Fog (which isn't available Disc to Digital ) as well as Death Sentence (which only has a Region Free Blu-ray in Germany). Wish I knew how long these sales ran though.

Edit: Is Dark Half (w/Timothy Hutton) any good? Just curious, I'm a sucker for thrillers about writers.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I scooped up Death Sentence. It's the UNCUT version. I would have had it on BD years ago but it never got a proper stateside release and the German HD-DVD/BD had non-removable German subtitles. $4.99 in 1080p and proper 2.35:1 is a steal. I may get The Dark Half before the sale ends.

Gotta say, although I think it bombed at the box office, I enjoyed it quite a bit. That's not saying a lot though since I'm a sucker for Stephen King and have the classics like Maximum Overdrive and Needful Things (the book was pretty good) in my DVD collection.

Thanks for the comments. I might just hold out for the Scream Factory Blu on Dark Half, especially if they run a sale on it in the next week or so. I did end up picking up Fog and Death Sentence but I'll wait on Dark Half for now.

Funny tidbit, I watched the trailer to Death Sentence I think it was yesterday morning, and I'm going "Oh, this has Kevin Bacon in it"....and my wife who was getting dressed said "Does that make it automatically better?" And then I respond back, "Why yes, yes it does." Truth be told, I probably would have never bought several of KB's movies if he hadn't been in them. (Cop Car, In the Cut and now Death Sentence...)

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

For anybody who had Venture Bros Season 5 redeemed (it was typically redeemed thru Flixster) but never got it to show on Vudu, it showed up for me last night in my TV section like I just redeemed it (but I prolly did it like 5 or 6 months ago). I guess they fixed it finally after how long LOL.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

The Halloween sale is on kids.

http://www.vudu.com/movies/#uiPage/169

Also, for those with T-Mobile, the VUDU credit is back, for today anyway. I used it for Prince of Darkness since I've always been curious to see it. (I know, I know). Plenty of good $4.99 picks, I'm wondering if my Criterion disc will work (Disc to Digital) for Videodrome (it did for a couple of other Criterions).

Is Village of the Damned any good? I'm a big JC fan, but some like Prince of Darkness (until today) and Village of the Damned have eluded me. (And I even liked Ghosts of Mars)

I did a D2D on Videodrome a year or two ago, and it worked. What I can't remember is if I used my personal CC copy or a library copy of a non-Criterion version.
