Vudu discontinued family sharing. No new accounts can be added to your shared library.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

You can merge 2 UV accounts into 1 still, and link that to Vudu. Thats about it these days.

You can still do a family share on Google Play movies.

I shared mine with a really good friend that I trust, but he said when he got the email to setup share on his end he was able to put in his own CC. I only got about 20 of his movies tho, and he got a lot of mine. Not sure what we did wrong.

No the Vudu app on Google Play Store is the Android version, so they'd need an Android/Android TV device with Google Play Store on it.

Other smart TVs and devices may have support, including game consoles. This is what they currrently list:
https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/services
  • Smart TV - Vizio, Samsung, LG
  • Game Consoles - Playstation, Xbox, Nvidea
  • Streaming Devices - Roku, Tivo, Chromecast (via Android/iOS device)
  • PCs and Macs
  • Phones and Tablets - Android (Google Play) and iOS
  • Blu-ray Players - Sony, Samsung, LG

So there's a lot of options. I stream Vudu via my Xbox One S.

One notable absence from the list are the Amazon Fire devices, including the Fire TV stick.

^^I haven't been able to figure that yet out either, you think they'd give you a couple options.

Youtube's sidebar has a number next to the "Purchases" line. I have 259:

Technically, that could include TV shows, but unless you purchased TV shows on Youtube/Google Play, you probably won't have any on there.

Also, the Youtube app on many devices can be used to play stuff from your Google Play library, as long as you're signed in. I use this to play movies on my Xbox One S, since there's no Google Play Movies app. A lot more devices have a Youtube app than Google Play Movies app.

I didn't see anything, and Quack already said no.

However, the Youtube and Google Play purchase libraries are the same.

I was confused on what you were asking, considering this is a Vudu thread, not Google Play thread.

I thought you were asking about how to get the Vudu app on various devices. On Android devices, you get the Google App through the Google Play Store.

But you were asking about Google Play Movies and TV, which is a separate service/app. You can't "get Vudu" through that.

Here's a link to tomorrow's sales.

Looks like there's some good stuff in the $6.99 HDX sale. Hotel New Hampshire, Mighty Quinn and Nighthawks have been on my wishlist (they're not D2D).

In theory you should be able to change the email address of your shared accounts, and new email id should be able access the same. I say in theory because I haven’t had a need for it and thus haven’t tried it lately, and will not be changing email addresses anytime soon, so I can’t guarantee. So proceed at your own risk. That said, I’ve done it many months ago and it worked for me. You should still be able to access your shared accounts through myuv.com.

Note that new releases are no longer UV compatible, so only old titles would be available to shared friends. I’ve noticed that when I add old titles, they may still show up in shared accounts, but new movies no longer do. So even if it works, shared movies will just be restricted to older movies.

Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes

I really wish I had gone all digital last year, before all the linking went away.

Anyone know if its possible to have 1 UV account linked to 2 separate VUDU accounts?

Or can you unlink a UV and link another one? Or does that take movies away if you unlink?

What do you mean, they can’t see Thor 3 or Coco or Shape of Water or anything?

They won’t. They’ll see the movies previously shared to the old email address, and perhaps other older movies you may purchase. But new ones, in my experience, are not showing up in my shared accounts.
