Anybody here using Vudu?

I love their service. I've built up a collection of about 230 titles through Ultraviolet codes and Disc-to-Digital conversion. The HDX quality is great. And it's so convenient with apps on my Roku, PS3, Xbox 360 and iPad.

I also love that I can share my movie collection with family. Just add them to your UV account. Then when they sign up at Vudu, all the movies are there. I don't have to loan out discs any more.

Vudu has a daily $0.99 rental deal (SD/HD/HDX). They often put up recent releases. The rental period is 48 hours, and you have 30 days to start watching.

Today's $0.99 Rental is End Of Watch (2012).

Good idea for a thread. I think Vudu is my favorite streaming site quality-wise right now. Works seamlessly with my Roku.

I forget, do I need to 'buy' all three versions of the content to verify I can play it on all my devices; or does buying it in HD or HDX also give you the SD version? I can't quite tell from the crappy mobile version process right now.

If you get HDX, you can switch it to HD or SD. My internet service can't handle HDX without dropping out constantly, but I get all my free content with HDX so I can play it that way if I ever get my service upgraded later. From what I've seen of HDX quality, it STILL has noticeable compression- still good for what it is, but it's no Blu-Ray replacement.

I've seen the comparison threads over at AVS Forum. And if you're looking at blown-up screencaps, you can notice the compression. But with normal viewing on a 60-inch plasma, I don't know if I could tell the difference. I've been really impressed with HDX.
